Avi's sink into ground

I have been off for a number of months. Now, my avi's all sink about 3/4 of a meter into what ever surace I try to walk on. I have tried ne avi's to no avail. Help!

If you go into appearance you will find a slider labeled Hover Height.  Usually this should be set at 50.  If your's is, make sure you are wearing the right shoe base to go with the shoes you are wearing.  If you are you can adjust your hover height a bit above 50.  Try 51 to start. 

If you change it from 50 you may have to reset it back if all of the sudden you notice your avatar 'floating' off the floor or ground.
