Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upload my own meshes to the SL world. I've modelled a simple TV with the screen and its frame in 3DS. It's only one object with multi sub object material and exported to collada format. I've uploaded it, but when I try to edit it inworld, I can't assign 2 different materials to the screen and to the frame. I've tryed to select faces and aply the material, but the whole object takes only one material. My question is, how can I upload an object and how can I select different faces to apply different materials to it? Probably this question is answered, but I didn't find anything that can help me....
Thanks

You have to create the materials in your 3D modeling program.  That is, select each collection of faces on your model that are to be identified with a single material.  You may define up to 8 materials that way.  On upload, each becomes a face on your model in SL.  I am not at all familiar with 3DS, but every modelling program has its own way of doing it.
