Can't log on. Trouble connecting but my end is fine. Gets to handshake then fails.

I'm having trouble logging in. It has been several months since I last tried, have accepted the new agreement and downloaded the latest version of the viewer. It starts connecting, gets to the region handshake and then fails telling me it is having trouble connecting. I have changed my router since last time I was logged in, would this be stopping it?

Thanks for the advice below, but I have tried. I have loaded both www.secondlife.com and the Second Life Viewer as exceptions on my virus checker and my firewall, restarted the computer, and it doesn't appear to have changed anything. Any other ideas?

You would need to  create an exception rule with your firewall to allow Second Life to connect. & then restart your computer.
