How long does the best rate buy take?

I have used the best rate buy a few times now. They have always shown in my account withing hours. My latest purchase has been placed a day ago now. Is this normal? How long can it take?

It depends on what rate you offered and how many offered the same rate ahead of you.  As you say, it could take only a few minutes or hours OR it could take weeks months or years until someone wants to sell their linden's at the rate you offered.

You can always cancel the offer and redo it at a lower rate, or just use the money in your US dollar account that is the refund from the cancellation to buy at the market rate.

Go to Manage on your dashboard, which is right next to Buy $L's to cancel your order. The refund should happen in just a few minutes, if not immediately
