Hey everyone. Sorry if this is something that's answered somewhere else but I've been looking around and haven't really been able to find a clear answer.

Basically, I'm new to Second Life, and I have a rigged mesh created in Maya that I would like to use as my player avatar. I can convert it to .dae just fine, but in the preview window for the Second Life upload, none of the vertex coloring appears properly. I've seen lots of people say that the common practice is just to upload the texture seperately, but the only texture is for the eyes, the rest is on the model itself.

Here's it looking normal in Maya: http://i.imgur.com/4Waw8I5.jpg

And here's how it shows up in the upload preview: http://i.imgur.com/tU99aCC.jpg

I don't have any experience with how Second Life accepts models or any of the caveats or restrictions that anything uploaded needs to adhere to. Is it possible to upload a model with vertex shading or would I need to make a seperate texture? I'm using the OpenCOLLADA plugin to export the .ma file to .dae and it seems to be working fine with no problems, the shading still shows up when I open the .dae in Maya, so I don't really know what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
