HUD Hide/Show buttons

I would say common is whatever it takes to get the HUD out of the way. Depending on how the HUD is build, scale, move, rotate, and alpha may be required. Personally I like to build my mesh HUDs in a way where a simple 90° rotation is enough to hide it.

Setting it only transparent isn't a good idea, because the buttons would remain clickable. And you have some unnecessary overdraw.
