DelizaLove
I went to a club with a very shiny dancefloor. How can I make one like that ? thanks
ChinRey
The easy way: Right click on the floor and select edit Click on "Select face" CLick on the top surface of the floor to select that face Select the Texture tab in the builder window Find the shininess function. In the SL viewer it's one option in a submenu with "Texture", "Bumpiness", and "Snininess". In some other viewers you see it right away Set shininess to "Low", "Medium" or "High" - low is porbably the best option
Dora Gustafson
Why not use a blank texture in Shininess(specular) for a better experience: This dance floor is waxed, irresistible to any dancer :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:

DelizaLove
how can I make light sources like you have there ? Im trying on a sandbox now but I cant make the floor reflect much
Dora Gustafson
The reflection seen on the dance island is a full copy of the dance hall with lights and stuff, mirrored under the floor It is seen through the floor which is semi transparent. :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:
DelizaLove
oh I see, well I dont have that much prims
Dora Gustafson
It is not clear if the question is for me since it is put to yourself;) If it is for me about how the shininess was made my answer is You need a viewer that shows advanced lighting The lights are projectors but simple point lights will also shine :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:
DelizaLove
Do I need a script to make a light source from a prim or is the glow thing enough ?
Dora Gustafson
Glow has no effect on emitted light and you need no script to set a point light or projector in a prim See how it is done here in Deferred Rendering - Projector UI :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:
