State University Network will not allow log-in.

Why is it that my home network will allow me to log on to the grid without any trouble, but the network on Campus at one of the State universities of New York will not. Everything seems fine up until the waiting for region handshake. At that point I receive this message. We are having trouble connecting. There may be a problem with your connection or the SL grid. You can either check you internet's connection and try again in a few minutes, click help to view the SL support portal, or click Teleport to attempt to teleport home. Could it be that I need to change proxy setting? Any idea's. Thanks in advance.

It is not unusual for universities, and any business actually, to block SL and other sites that they do not want people to access from their network.

It is their network and their security, so it would not be a good idea to try and get around it.

That's a classic firewall message.  I get the same thing if I try to run SL from work.  Not much you can do about it.
