This is made IN SL by uploading a texture (partially transparent) that you made in your graphics editor. Lots of video tutorials out there. Here is a written one with screenshot: http://sasypants.com/2011/08/25/alpha-tutorial/ Once you make it, you wear it and it will make whatever part needed disappear -- in your case the legs.
