Maybe I am getting overly hopeful.  I read with astonishment (in the SLU Ripped Mesh thread that I keep up with) that one of the largest and best known of the mesh-ripper stores sent out a notice to the store group with some bogus explanation about why, um, most of the store content had been taken down. The marketplace store apparently now has only 6 items, where before it had hundreds.

 

No way was this volunatry -- she/he was almost certainly shut down by LL, due no doubt to many, many DMCAs. Since mesh was introduced and the (entirely predictable) flood of ripped mesh washed over SL, I have seen very few other signs that LL was at all concerned about it. Of course, the ripper evidently has not had his/her account deleted, so for now I see all this as a good sign, but not as good as it should be.

Sounds like a move in the right direction for sure! Let's hope it gains momentum...
