You buy it.  You may start looking at posts in the Land forums here or you may decide to just go exploring in world until you see land that you like.  You should read http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-land/ta-p/700043  first, though.  I also strongly suggest taking Lindal Kidd's free class on land ownership and management at Caledon Oxbridge University in world this Friday at 5 SLT.
