That shows just how well you and Blender are now working as a team. :) And as a good team player Blender is not waiting to be asked because it knows how you like to work .....

Open Blender.

Create a mesh.

UV unwrap. ( a few times).

Save as .blend.

Export as .obj.

Close Blender.

Open Blender.

Import .obj

Save as .Blend

Export as .obj.

Close Blender.

Open Blender.

Import .obj

Save as .Blend

Export as .obj.

Close Blender.

Open Blender.

Import .obj

..........

..........

............

.............

..............

...........

If that works for your team then fine but  other teams have a shorter workflow ( i think the profis call it a pipeline )  which is like this ...

       Open Blender.

       Create a mesh.

       UV unwrap.

       Save as .blend.

       Export as .dae

Yous see the difference? You can reduce all of this :

                                              Export as .obj.

                                              Close Blender.

                                              Open Blender.

                                              Import .obj

                                              Save as .Blend

                                              Export as .obj.

                                              Close Blender.

                                              ..............

                                              ............

                                               ..........

to one step :

      Export as .dae

Remember as team captain its you who decide how your team will play .

PS sounds like you need to restart your computer .

Aquila you have me scratching my head as well.  Whaa?

Actually I had this happen once when exporting an obj from  Blender..2.6 something.  It only happened once.  It completely freaked me out and I never figured out why it happened, but happily it's never happened a second time.  Must have something to do with that monkey...
