how do I change my account to allow me to go into adult locations

Linden Lab has already established your access to Adult area, based on the correct birthdate that you entered when you established your account, so now all you have to do is indicate your preference. You have to do it in three places:

1. In Preferences >>> General, check General, Moderate, Adult

2. In Search, check the A box from G, M, A in the upper left corner of the window

3.  In Marketplace, select General, Moderate, Adult from the pull-down menu at the top center of the page.

Many Adult-rated areas routinely deny access to residents who have been in SL less than 30 days, but you should not have a problem, since you joined more than a month ago.
