Although a Phoenix page, the same apply to all viewers. Hopefully one will work for you. What works one time however, may not work next time if it ever happens again. Likely not a network issue if your alt is ok.

In addition, one solution not mentioned far as I know is to change singly and not all at the same time as happens when trying a library avatar or character test. Try these first.

1. Bald base

2. Shape

3. Skin

4. Eyes

In addition to Nyll's suggestions, if you are seeing a small white egg rather than the typical fuzzy white cloud, Lindal Kidd has suggested that particles may be turned off and you should check your graphics settings to make sure they're enabled.
