Small Island

When I first joined SL I rented a small island. The land was about 9000 sq meters and very private. I was considering purchasing some land now, and wondering if islands like this are sold or ever come up on the market? It's not a full sized sim, I believe 1/16 th of  sim in terms of size.

Was it mainland or a private estate. 

If you rented a isolated mainland island those come up for sale rarely and cost a fortune when they do come to market. 

If you are talking a private estate, you will have better luck.  Look for land in sailing estates in particular.  In those estates many times the sims that are connected and they have a couple or few small islands on each sim with the rest being water that all the landowners in the estate share.  Lots/Islands like this are a bit more expensive than regular land is.

BTW 1/16th would be a 4096 sqm lot.

of course the sailing estates are not really private, as they all have (and rightly so) strict rules about land security settings, basically disallowing anything that would block access to the waterways.
