Is the latest iMac fully functional for SL?

I currently have an iMac7,1 with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed:2, Bus Speed: 800 MHz.  My connection speed is currently 2.59 Mbps.  Is it my computer or connection speed that causes lag and won't allow for everything turned on?  Which do I need to upgrade?

Yes, The current crop of iMacs running on OS x10.6 or better will run SecondLife well. Your iMac 7.1 is 6 year old technology and very behind the eight ball in regards to the current state of 3D graphics virtual environments. The Graphics on that iMac 7.1 only has 128 or 256 mb of Graphics Memory on it and to be sure can't display the advanced graphics options of SL.
