The DirectX version means nothing with Second Life because it uses OpenGL instead of DirectX. You also mentioned problems starting with the last release of the Linden Lab viewer. One of the big changes is that it reset many people's default graphics settings due to a revision of the table that says what video card should use what setting. I've seen reports of graphics settings being set higher than is really appropriate for some cards. See what your graphics settings are now compared with how they used to be. Also, by "lag" do you mean low frame rate or rubber-banding and slow movement? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

From Help>About, you get a report that has packet loss on the last line. If it is running over 1%, you will begin to notice significant lat.
