Check to see if Tatsumi no machi still exists.  It had free yukatas in the gift shop.  If not, then there used to be a free kimono on the Gion sim: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Gion/85/159/25

If the above two don't work out, and if the Gion sim still exists (sorry, I'm not in world atm), there is a fun and fairly easy hunt in the Gion sim for great kimonos and other Japanese attire items, including a Maiko skin.
