hello, everyone :)

i made french patio doors and put a cabinet door script which needs hinge(left-in, and right-in). so, i made hinges then linked them together - the hinge is the parent one. they work when they are not linked to the building. but when i link them, they don't. could someone tell me why and how i could make them work?

thank you very much :)

The easy answer is to use a different door script.  The simplest door script in SL, and arguably the most reliable, is Void Singer's >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/LSL-Library/Simple-Hinge-Action/td-p/875331 . If you use it without a hinge -- as a single prim door -- you can link it to your structure with no trouble.  If you insist on using a hinge or if you have a multiprim door, though, life gets more difficult because you have you move and rotate each door component relative to the root prim of the linkset.  That means calculating each one's local rotation and translation separately. It's not an impossible task, but it's a true pain, so most people avoid it.

BTW, if you have a multiprim door and you can be satisfied with sliding it instead of rotating it, that's relatively easy >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/LSL-Library/Linkable-Multiprim-Sliding-Door/td-p/722649
