Hi Guys,
i know may are going to say "computer says no" but i hope there might be someone...

my problem is my computer died so i've resurrected an old imac and i cant upgrade has Mac OSX 10.4.11 (tiger) so i need an old viewer. Now i don't like my chances ether but hey you never know if you don't ask.... so is there any one out there in SL land who might have an old mac SL viewer or could point me in the right direction.

I've tried a few third party viewers but all latest versions don't support this older mac so... in my desperation i even tried a torrent search, surprisingly there were some but only pc ones.

so any help plz!

Thanks

Hi again Emery. Sorry, but I cannot give you another reply different from the one I gave you here:

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/unable-to-run-viewer-on-older-mac/m-p/1640649#M15812

Have you tried what Eric Castanea suggested?

"YOu can try this old viewer: http://my.opera.com/boylane/blog/the-final-final-rainbow-for-macosx

Note that it lacks a lot of modern features and my have some vunerabilities. But it runs on my G4 with OSX 10.4"

Update to my previous post: I have just installed Rainbow Viewer on my old PowerPC (10.5) and it's running fine. You may give this one a try. :smileywink:

Grab the installer here. It's a zipped dmg, so should be very straight forward.

Emery, as a sidenote (but yet important), don't expect to be much wowed at the graphics. You won't be able to activate lights, shadows and depth of field like we can in the recent viewers. But at least you can login! This should keep you busy enough until you can get a brand new Mac! Have fun!!! :smileywink:
