Using separate models for the 4 LOD's

  (I have been following the "Hoax" thread with interest, and trying to improve the LI of a mesh I had made a while back.

   If this has been dealt with previously here, please post the link - I have browsed this forum's past topics, but cant find anything that helps me.)

 

  My problem is as follows:-

     When I bring up the Upload Window, if I "Browse" and "Öpen" more than 1 file on my hard-drive, then the "Calculate Weights" button stops being highlighted and I cant see the cost, never mind progress to "Upload".

     Btw, everything looks OK otherwise - I even get that green swoosh with "Ship it!"

     Any individual file used on its own is no problem.

     I tried various tests, including copying a file in Blender and just adding subsurf to get a higher poly mesh; however, the Uploader just doesn't want to know.

 

  Any advice or links gratefully received.

Lots of things could be wrong, the most obvious one would be non matching materials.

All models need to have the exact same materials or SL gets confused.

Well, that was it Kwakkelde.

I thought I did have that bit sorted, but to check, I  gave each model just 1 material (the same,obviously) and Hey Presto!

Are you using an oldish viewer? There were some versions that failed to give the error message for mismatched materials, but did grey out the calculate button, as you describe. As far as I know this was remedied a couple of main release versions ago.
