when i go to upload my rigged mesh dress, the previewer is empty...

i havent actually tried uploading the file in case i end up wasting linden. everything checks out with the uploader, the vertice count and everything is right, im just not seeing anything in the previewer. totally bizarre.

-edit: ok so I did upload it and as i suspected, nothing appeared when it was rezzed.

i tried one work around, i opened the blender file in another version of blender (not the jass version) and exported the dress again, but this time, the mesh uploader gave me a "dae parsing issue" error.

any ideas?

another question, why does my mesh dress not upload with the inner back part showing? ive seen this issue with other mesh clothes in SL.

here is an example image

Can't help you with the rigging, but look at the yellow panel here to see how to test uploads on Aditi without really costing L$.

The reason you don't see the inside surfaces is because all mesh faces in SL are one-sided. Only the side the normal protrudes from is rendered. If you want to preview this behaviour in Blender, check the "Textured Solid" checkbox in the "Display" section of the 3D view properties bar (to the right of the 3D view).

is there an easy way to fix this without having to re-do the entire mesh?

You can copy your mesh and reverse the normals. This will ofcourse double the geometry of your object, so it would be wise to delete all faces you don't need afterwards. Usually this would mean cuffs and collar and such, not the center of your belly or back for example.
