How do the permissions work when I grant a friend the ability to "Edit, delete or take my objects?"

I tried it out with an alt, and it did not work as I expected from the wording.  For example, the alt could return a no copy object but could not take it.  Is there a good explanation of how this works somewhere?

eta;  i guess  not.  it baffles and irks me that thr Lindens don't think it necessary to document how things works.  Thanks to thre two people who answered.

Unless your objects are deeded to a group (and yes, you have to create one for your own alts), they won't be able to edit/move/take, etc.

In such cases I think the next owner permissions apply. So if you set your item to full permissions, including all the content, your alt can take a full perm copy. I certainly never made a group for my building alts and I have always been able to manipulate things.

This doesn't work for contents though. So if you want to let your alts edit scripts in your rezzed items, you should set the items to group, or even deed them, I'm not entirely sure.
