Can anyone offer some useful ways to fix this problem?

I'm using Blender 2.59

But I also have MAX 3DS & MeshMixer07 at my disposal so I can export to .OBJ and repair else where.

Anyway I was panning round and saw that the 2 seems were going thorough eachother slightly so I pulled them apart. Any way I can morph this together so it goes round?

Thanks in Advanced :)

Glad you got it sorted, Lukeh.:)

Sorry for not having realized you didn't know how to simply merge the vertices. When you said you wanted an "interesting way" to fix it, I thought you were looking for something unusual.  I didn't get that it was just a basics question.

Anyway, don't ever assume you suck.  You'll find that most tasks in 3D modeling are quite simple.  It's just that there are a lot of them.  It's a big subject.

There is another method which is faster and less repetitive if you have a lot of vertices to merge:

  1. In edge select mode, select the two corresponding edge loops you want to merge (e.g. via Alt-Shift-Click).
  2. Menu: Mesh --> Edges --> Bridge Two Edge Loops.
  3. Select the new edge ring you just created between the two loops.
  4. Menu: Mesh --> Delete --> Edge Collapse.
