Do people in SL offer services in building items for merchants?

Hi, I don't think my post title explains clearly what I mean....

I'm planning to start a RL business and am thinking that I might like to mirror it in SL - maybe not offer identical products but similar. All of this  of course would be time consuming,  so I'm wondering if anyone in SL offers their modelling/build skills to make items (not design, just make it up) whether mesh or prim, for a fee? Or is this not a done thing? I'm not looking for anyone now, just trying to guage what my options might be. Any advice/feedback would be appreciated.

any number of creators would build to order - I know I have over the years, as long as IP

rights etc are respected.
