New Skilled Gaming Rules

Linden Labs has just created a new rule in order for players to be able to get on Skilled Gaming Regions. In order for a player to be able to play Skilled games, they must have Pay Info. on file. I have worked at Studio 777 for the past 3 years as Security and now with this new rule, I am unable to even get on the sim to do my job because LL wants me to have Pay Info. on file, which I do not have. There is no legal reason why I must provide my Pay Info. which will either be my Bank Account Number or my Paypal Account Number in order to enjoy being able to get on a Skilled Gaming Region. I live in California and gambling is legal here and I sure don't have to provide any of the Casinos here with any Information prior to me entering the property so why does LL demandd that I provide them with my banking Information in order to be able to get on a skilled gaming region? I believe that the sole purpose is for LL to collect banking Information on more of its player.

When you enter a gaming sim LL does not track why you are there or what you do unless you spend L's nor would it be easy to make an exception for you even if they did. 

SL is owned by LL and LL may set any rule they wish even if your state does not require PIOF as some states or countries may and it would be needlessly complicated to deal with the quirks of every RL location for each resident.   Also some states allow gaming in RL under one set of laws but have different laws for internet gaming so unless you study all of your states entire gaming laws you don't know if the same laws apply to RL and internet gaming.

LL would erect barriers without a good reason as they'd be shooting themselves in the foot, but they must comply with the law.  I have had PIOF since 2006 as well as my RL info and LL has never compromised me in any way or charged me for something I didn't authorize.  I earn my L's and US funds in SL, so I go years without a purchase.  Your information is safe unless you yourself don't take basic precautions for safeguarding your account.

I am afraid you will have to put PIOF or not be allowed on gaming sims.  The choice is yours and depends on your priorities.

Sounds like you need to learn the difference between 'rights' and 'privileges.'
