Question

What is the official position regarding lucky chairs that give object prizes and/or cash prizes. I would think they don't fall afoul of the gaming regs because players are not required to pay into them. Is it just me or do the polices seem to be leaning towards the idea that people have to want to be on your sim, but if you do anything to actually make them want to be there that's cheating!

Would love an answer from an appropriate Linden on this one.

You're not going to hear from an appropriate Linden.  Lindens never come to this resident-to-resident site.  We're all just like you.  We can read the same Skill Gaming Policy, though, and we read the same thing you do. If you don't require a person to pay to participate in your game, it's not a skill game.  So lucky chairs are fine.  There's no cheating involved, unless you want to consider the whole field of advertizing to be a form of cheating --- an interesting possibility.......
