How long does it take the installation of second life for checking the network connection?

I have had the Second Life download on my Toshiba Satellite laptop for a day now and it wont get passed the "Checking Network Connection" part, and I really want to show my friend around. I have also tried restarting my computer and re-downloading it but it stays stuck on the "Checking Network Connection".

Are you trying to acess Second Life with wireless connection? This is sometimes a problem for some. (And on a sidenote: Just Toshiba Satellite says nothing about whats inside of your laptop, as this is a name for a whole bunch of different laptops).

and also look if your anti virus is too strict and makes issues.
