unable to remove item from avitar

i rezzed a box into a changing room i am in and it containedd an angel kitty. I opened the box and wore it and my avi became the kitty. But now i can't remove it. The wings are gone the initial kitty look is gone but the skin isnt removable. I look like a deformed person and i cant put another skin over it. there isnt anywhere to remove or delete the item.. Please help. If there is a way to go back to original avi that would be great... Please Help.... Greatful

Don't panic! . There is no way to REMOVE skin; you need to replace it with another skin.  If your original avatar was one that came when you joined Second Life, you will most likely find the complete avatar with clothes in the Library in your Inventory. The Library folder is below your regular inventory folders and has items that everyone gets when they venture into world. So simply find your avatar from the list of folders (I think they are under Outfits - I have deleted all of mine *wink*) and change your outfit.

 

If your avatar was one you put together yourself from items you purchased or gifts, then you will need to put on your skin of choice, add clothes and hair, etc. 

Just remember that SKIN, SHAPE and EYES cannot be removed, only clothes and attachments like hair and shoes.
