Those of the specs of the desktop I'm considering of buying. For my questions I would like to know:

 

• What type of memory module I should purchase? (They ones available are:DDR3-1600 Memory Module,DDR3-1866 Memory Module, or DDR3-2133 Memory Module. I plan on purchasing each module with 8gb but I would like to know if the different types of modules will have a BIG affect. G.Skill Ripjaws X is the brand of RAM I'm thinking of purchasing.

 

• What type of Wattage should I purchase? The lowest I can go is a 500W but from I hear, that not might cut it and I would only get by with it.

 

I would like to be able to run SL on High settings with:

 

• Transparent water
• Bump Mapping and shiny
• Local Lights
• Basic Shaders
• Atmostspheric shaders
• Draw Distance= 64-128
• Max Particle count=0
• Max # of imposter avatars=10
• Post Process Quality
• Mesh Detail=All marked high excluding Sky detail
• Avatar Impostors: check
• Hardwar Skinning: check
• Terrain Detail=High
• Water reflection= Minimal but I might switch it to everything
• Avatar Physics: High

 

Ping: 40ms

DWNLD SPD: 10.83 mps

UPLD SPD: 1.45 mps

for avatars lets say 60 since some hotspots have that many avatars

all that looks fine, minus the power supply.  I was shutting down because my system was requiring more then 500watts of power.  my advice is get one that 750 or higher.  currently I run a silver stone st-1000p  (1000 watt) and have no issues.

My rig is pretty similar to that, and runs fine on a 550W PSU, but its definitely a good idea to have breathing room. I have all settings on 'ultra'.

RAM: higher clock speeds will have some effect, but not much. If its a significant price jump to the higher speeds, then don't bother.

Suggestions: Get a small(ish) solid state drive to go with the 1TB HDD you have there: Hard Drive speeds are by far the biggest bottleneck in PCs these days, and running your OS and important programs off an SSD will dramatically improve performance.
