    When Bom was released, Applier skins and clothing started to die off. Just as system clothes died off when mesh bodies and applier skins and clothing became  more popular..

    It just happens because the majority moves in those directions, which triggers more creators to create more of this  and none or less of that..

     

    I kept everything! And BOM is pretty much high(er) quality system clothes

    I think these new rules -- and especially the one about baked-on underclothing, which I suspect is really unnecessary -- are going to create lots of real inconveniences and hardships among those who use child avatars. And, no, I don't think that's a good thing: I believe there is a large and entirely legitimate community of child RPers who deserve to be allowed to do their thing to the greatest degree possible. There is absolutely no question that there is a*eplay happening in SL, but, as I've said before, I am pretty sure that, by a pretty huge margin, it's mostly happening with avatars that are largely indistinguishable from adult ones.

    But, I'm sorry, your example, above, is trivial to an almost ridiculous degree.

    Well mostly started because of long tps or logins and taking forever to rez. So you go afk and get distracted by TV, go off to start dinner, actually go to eat, or even fall asleep because the tp takes so damn long. You should visit those HUBs and watch all the afk people who don't even know their sim was unavailable during restarts.

    Remember that the giant hitpiece article went out of it's way to target the maker of the Tweenster body (a child avatar).. because it was located on an A-rated region. One of the better known motorcycle shops (with it's daily midnight mania giveaways) is located on A-rated land.. they even SELL child-sized bikes! A large number of Star Wars roleplay regions are located on A-Rated land. Driver's of SL frequently visits Zindra, and is often sponsored by stores located on A-rated land.

    And that's not even getting into clothing stores that just sit on A-rated land because "oh, I dunno, someone might get naked on a pose stand, better mark it A to be safe"

    Of course it would be useful in rl, opps its 8 o'clock, time to force tp the kids home. 😂

    I used RLV to have my kid on my arm, my back, to have them follow me, to tp them, or sometimes to ground them to their room.

    I see no requirement that the skin be made by the creator of the body.  Just that a modesty layer be baked into whatever skin a child avatar is using.   As I read this, the modesty layer must be part of the skin, not a separate BOM garment that the avatar could remove to become nude.  Every skin that a child avatar uses must have a modesty layer; if they use a skin that does not, they are not in compliance.

    Well if you read it literately, it does say "creator obligated to add a modesty layer", and "*may* not be removed," not "*can not* be removed". which would imply that as long as you wear the modesty layer provided by a body or skin creator as part of any baked skin you are in order. I think that's an important distinction from all that has been said here.

    Depending on the body you use, I imagine that content will get made fairly quickly (we can hope?).

    So basically any child avi's 10,000s of L$s worth of skins, and bodies are now completely useless because they can't be censored, unless they bring out special bodies that censor every baked skin. I'd call that punishment for being a child avi.

    Overall, this is much less Draconian than it could have been. It's going to trigger some complaints, but other than the fact that kid avatars aren't going to be able to run around at nude beaches anymore (which I think is a good thing) or be given "realistic" baths (which . . . maybe is also a good thing), I don't see how this should impede those representing as children overly much.

    No? they just got forbidden access to a ton of islands, which aren't always fully adult.
