  1. Yep... I got that today, finally someone replied to my ticket. I filled it out sent it in... now I'll probably have to wait another two weeks befoer they tell tell me I should have my money within 5 business days..

I wonder... there is a piece in there talking about Photo ID. But no mention of where to send it (unless I'm blind). Anyone go through this process? If so, where'd you send it to?

  2. I have a ticket in, and even added a reply to it asking for an update. Still have heard nothing.

I understand that the Patriot Act requires a form to be filled out with pertinent information, I've done that on the PayPal side. I have not been asked to do so on the LL side. My caution would be, if I fill it out for Paypal, and LL comes at me with the same requirement, then will that mean I'm going to be paying taxes twice for the same amount taken out? After all, I would get a 1099 (or whatever form it is) from both entities. If that happens, isn't the double dipping? I would have thought that the form would need to be filled out by those receiving a check from LL, and not going through Paypal.

I'm sure they are off today due to Martin Luthger King Day (I'm not off, go figure), but this really is getting ridiculous. 8 business days have gone by for something they say takes 5 days max. No replies to tickets, and reps on chat tell me to wait for a response from the ticket. Seems like a no win.

I think there's a general problem. I couldn't purchase Lindens using my PayPal or my check card on 1/13 but had had no problems 2 days earlier.

Let's hope they get things fixed soon. It's frustrating. Thanks, Bobbie.

  4. Wondering if anyone else is struggling with LL's process credit during the last week. I put a request through on Jan 7th. Typically it takes 3 - 5 business days. I chatted with support two days ago who in turn opened a ticket. The ticket has not been replied to by anyone at LL. I chatted with support again yesterday and the only response was to wait for the ticket to be answered.

Anyone else having to wait longer than 5 days to get their money deposited into PayPal?

  5. Most popuilar is SAM Broadcaster. As stated by KarenMichelle, you can do payment plans for it. VirtualDJ is "OK", but doesn't give you error codes... so when something goes wrong, you really have to dig to find the root problem. SAM on the other hand gives you a code that can be used to figure out what the fix is. Personally I think SAM is better than VDJ (and I am not a SAM fan).

If you are looking for "free" there is BUTT and Winamp (but you better get winamp and the dsp plugin NOW before it gets discontinued on the 20th). also keep in mind... you get what you pay for, so if you go "free", don't expect it to do the things VDJ or SAM, StationPlaylist, or OTSAV, etc can do.

  6. Thank for the reply.  I thought of that, but then it wouldn't be a fading out and in. Typically stream issues end up with abrupt stops/starts/cuts. Interestingly, I changed the description of my land... not the stream URL... and it happened (just now). So very odd.  The stream flows normal via winamp so I know its not the stream server or any hiccup on it, or beyond it on the net. Whether I listen via the viewer or winamp, my locations hasnt changed... the investigation continues.

  7. Speed test is fine... no issues there. Again this isn't just me... others have also said they hear the same thing at different locations, and when we are at same location they don't have the occurrence at same time as I do.  Also if it was a network issue, I;d hear the same thing in Winamp.... this is a fade out then in as if you were going from one sim to another... but instead you are at the same place with nothing changing in tertms of the stream.

  8. No, actually I'm standing on the sim or at a club. The stream URL isn't changing it just fades out then fades back in intermittently. I know it's not the stream itself as it is steady in Winamp. I also know others hear same thing, although not always at same time as I do.

  9. Been to a few sims where there is music playing.... and all of the sudden the music fades out then back in at various points. Any idea what may be causing this?  I switch to Winamp to listen and it sounds fine with no glitches. I know it's not isolated to me as others have experienced the same thing. Again this seems to happen at a number sims I go to.

    Thoughts?

  10. A few years ago, tips were good... the DJ and host usually would get 100L or more from many patrons.  If you DJ'd and had a request, and played the request, you would get tipped an additional 100L or more for each request (many times the host would receive an extra 100L for the request as well).  Nowadays, I Dj and get someone requesting 5 songs only to receive a 50L tip from that person (sometimes only a 5L tip).  Times and economy have changed the way people spend lindens. You just have to tip whatever you feel comfortable giving, and what your SL finacial situation allows.

I can't see why you think that anything ran by "us" would work.

Second Life is used by many,
    many kinds of different users
    , in
    different contexts
    , with very
    different needs
. Sometimes what some users need is opposite to what other ones need. Sometimes -like with the new social network- one simply can ignore those features he doesn't need.

Linden Lab has to develop and evolve Second Life taking into account all of those different needs. If they think a new feature will benefit a large enough number of users, they have to develop that feature. It's irrelevant if some other users don't need that feature. They won't use it.

You're right and that is why it is called "Voice of the Customer". If you don't do one, you'll never know what those different "kinds", "contexts" and "needs" are.  You do your VOC. You hash through all the information.  You learn all about your customer, then you pioritize the features that the customer mostly would prefer to have AND makes sense business wise. Otherwise you risk losing a large portion of your customer base.  I don't see how LL can develop and evolve SL without this information.

And as Kyoka said, there was a time when you at least felt like you were part of the evolution of SL by at least asking for opinions.  Many of the earlier features were created with the customer and customer input in mind.

  12. I do find it funny when I read a disclaimer. I know they don't hold water... but I do end up asking...  "if you have that disclaimer stating that by Imming you, I acknowledge that you can share, etc., then what happenes if I have a disclaimer that states that I give notice that any and all messages, in chat or IM MAY NOT be shared with any individual other than a representative of Linden Lab, regardles of who initiated the conversation. etc"....

Who trumps who.  That's why I believe disclaimers saying that per the ToS as long as they give notice, it is allowed is nothing more than a joke and people just pushing others to the limit.

FYI - about 3 months ago a buddy of mine had such a disclaimer... he shared... the person ar'd them... he was suspended for a few days. ... just sayin'

  13. Just wondered how everyone feels about the new changes.... the ones I refer to are the new profile pages on the web site, and also the new search (All).

I don't like either one.  i wonder if I missed a memo. Did LL even ask their "customers" what they wanted, or has the "Voice of the Customer" concept flown out the window?
