  1. This problem started a few hours ago. A few e-mails confirmed it sees to to rther wide spread. Any ideas what is going on?
  2. <sarcasm>Why stop at 2,000? Most of the creative people in SL won't be able to afford that for every mesh, so why not really limit it to the corporate drones, and make it 2,000 per vertex?. </sarcasm> 2k per mesh is not unreasonable only if you are making money off of it. Most of the people who are making products in SL (yes, there are some notable exceptions) are losing money. I don't understand the point of taking yet more money from the poeple who are making SL a place that people want to sign up with. If LL wants to attract more people to SL, they should think about finding ways to support content creators, not impede them. I think the point you are making, however, is valid, however. By making it prohibitively expense to develop content on SL, we can effectively either stop all but the very well off from developing content in SL, and forcing them off SL to develop content for InWorlds and other grids instead. I just don't think that is a good idea. The idea here is to grow the user base, not shrink it to death-spiral numbers. To do that, you need to have some kind of content to attract new people. Of course, your mileage may differ.
  3. Ann, I would also like the answers to those questions. And, if I may add a few of my own: How long will it be before LL will tell us why their version of Collada will not be compatible with Blender's version of Collada. I am not saying it will, of course. I can't imagine why they would want to do that. What tools will be available to SL creators (of at least Blender quality -- remember, that is a freebie developed by a bunch of unpaid persons) to create the new avatars. Once again, I am not saying they would not include those tools. I am sure they would never not do that. How long will LL keep saying that they will not cut support for prims & textures before they announce that no more support will be available for them? I am not saying they would do that, of course. As to the other questions: Why should scripting support be available? You know, they could make quite a bit of money if they charged developers for scripting support. Either that, or they would drive the rest of the developers out to InWorlds and other such. Why should LL train creators now. When have they actually trained people who didn't work for them in the past? Please, explain more fully that last remark about anti-trust. I am not a lawyer, so I do not really understand what a trust is, or how this could be construed as one. Please, could you be a bit more explicit?
