Gachas were banned because some countries are now banning items like those. That and ONLY that is the reason for the ban.
Depictions of AP, whether real or not, are illegal almost everywhere. That is why it's illegal in SL.

The woman in the straight jacket was there because she CHOSE to be there. She was role playing. It's not illegal.
Gachas and slave auctions have nothing in common at all.
Find some other windmill to tilt at or don't.
No country has talked to LL about gachas. None. It is the result of one new owner. He doesn't like gachas. And even if a country did protest to LL about gachas, all LL has to do is confine gachas to certain islands. Just like games of skill. You live in a country that doesn't allow gachas, then you can't go to that island. That is not hard to do.

As for slave auctions, if online role play becomes illegal or censored in some countries, then yeah, maybe they will have to put a stop to it. But you're basically paying for someone's time. You're not really buying a person. No guarantee if you're going to enjoy that time. Just like anything else purchased. You may like it and you may not. Such is life.
You DO realize no one is actually being sold? You can buy me at an auction but when I want to log out, I will. If I don't like what you tell me to do, I won't do it. It's role play. That dog avatar really isn't a dog either. Just sayin'.
Most of the posters here were singing the praises of gacha being banned. If I go back and look, I would see several post saying that it was great that gachas were being banned.
As for slave auctions, the same thing was being said about A.P. That the child avatars were being controlled by those 18, and over. That still didn't matter. Robin Linden was interviewed by a German reporter. The reporter showed Robin pictures of RL child porn that was being passed out at ***** brothels. Some of these were advertised as girls schools, but weren't.
Now we have slave auctions. We now live in a Me too era, and cancel culture era. So I can see LL putting an end to slave auctions at some point in the future. Its not just the aucti
on, but the violence that some players do. Some might involve r***, or torture. I saw a woman a couple of months ago standing on abandoned land, wearing a strait jacket, and her mouth covered up. She was doing that for a law she broke with her mistress.
Just look at some old movies. On Disney+, they now have disclaimers on some old movies like Dumbo. One day, when a TV station shows I Love Lucy, they might have a disclaimer saying "Warning, Violence against women shown". And the part that the warning is for, is when Rickey gives Lucy a spanking. And to me, that would be dumb. Just like Disney+ putting disclaimers on its old movies.

So what do you have against people playing gachas? If they want to play, then good for them. I know, you don't like gambling. But some people do. But talk about ending slave auctions, well you defend that activity. Theres no problem with that. But you do want to ban other stuff, like gachas. Only Fans was in the news a while back about porn being on their website. Some banks had stopped doing business with them. Now that they have found banks that will do business with them, they will now allow porn.
But what about slave auctions? Will banks, or credit card companies do business with LL, if they find out that SL has slave auctions?
As for dogs, I have nothing against dogs. What do you have against gachas? If you don't like them, then don't play the machines.

Maryanne Solo said that she didn't like gambling. So I asked how she felt about slave auctions. Now a lot of posters are defending slave auctions, while at the same time criticizing gacha prize machines. One person called slave auctions as away to find a girlfriend. Would she say the same about *****? Some of the age players said the same thing. ***** was banned in 2007. And that was banned because of some concerns in Germany, and people were passing out RL child porn.
With gacha, LL has had no contact with any country about gacha prize machines. None what so ever. Same with the states. Not one state has contacted LL, and said to them to get rid of gacha prize machines. Even if they did, then all they had to do was confine gacha machines to islands. Just like they do with Zyngo, and other games of skill. If you live in Florida, or in any state that doesn't allow games of skill, then you can't visit those states.
The real reason that LL is banning gachas, is because of the new owners. I would say one new owner.
What I think the creators of the gacha prizes, and the resellers do is this. They should file a class action lawsuit. The creators should file one, and the resellers should file one. But that should be a last result. Again, if this was because of legislation in other countries, then all LL would have to do is confine gacha prize machines to certain islands. Thats all they had to do.
I was going to post a picture. It showed two women up for auction. One White, and one Black. You can find it in search places. Now I don't know how anybody can defend slave auctions. This isn't just giving money to a woman in exchange for sex. This is auctioning off of somebody. Yes it is an avatar. But just like *****, slave auctions need to go. You don't need to simulate having people being auctioned off. Or being treated worse than dogs.

There has been no communication to LL, from any country about gacha prize machines. One of the owners used to be Deputy Director of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
He was also a protege of Elizabeth Warren. So he feels that people that play gacha prize machines are being cheated. Some people feel the same way about gambling, or payday loan stores. But in each case, people make their own choice. Nobody hold a gun to their head, and say play the gacha machine, or slot machine, or borrow from a payday loan store. They are all choices. Some might be bad choices. I say to each their own.

In some states, games of skill are against the law. But LL does allow games of skill on some islands. If you are from a state where games of skill are against the law, then you can't go to those islands. Why not have gacha islands? If you are from a state that doesn't allow playing gacha machines, then you can't go to an island that has gacha machines. This is not about regulations in other countries. This is about one of the new owners of LL. He doesn't like gacha prize machines.
There has been no communication to LL, from other countries about gacha prize machines. None what so ever. I don't blame Patch. He just works for LL. He is not going to say anything bad about his employers. I'm pretty sure that many of the Lindens are against this new policy.
This is just like the independent Linden exchange ban back in 2013. That policy was also unpopular. Many people from Europe were mad at that ban. And now they choose to ban gacha.

So, I see that a lot of people on here don't like gachas. I have never played a gacha machine. I say to each their own. I do have them in my store, but I make very little from them. All items on them were made by Feelgood Trip, and his ex wife. I could sell them on the MP, and Caspervend, and I might make more money. But everything is set for transfer, no copy. So I may have to change the perms. But I still don't know where LL is saying changes in legislation. What legislation? I don't know of any new rules for prize machines.
It looks like Second Life is just like real life. Too many busy bodies.

My store has 7 gacha machines. I make very little from those. I make most of my money from the sell of drugs. I do have a random prize machine called Magic Bottle. You pay 10L$, and you get a random prize. Will it affect those?
What about vending machines? I have one that sells vehicles. Another one sells t shirts. Will those be affected? Will LL come after drugs next? Where does this end?

I can now read group chat. Rocko Linden told me to clear cache, and restart my viewer. After I did that, it worked. If you have the same problem, then try to do what I did.
First clear cache, then loggoff from SL. Then logg back on. If that doesn't work, then file a ticket, or if you have, then update your ticket. If you are premium, then you can use live chat.

Well something is wrong at LL again. I can't read group chat. I could this morning, but when I got on a few hours ago, I couldn't. I can read personal IMs. So if somebody sends me an IM, I can read that. But messages posted in groups, I can't read. Even ones that I post. This same thing happened in November. I hope it doesn't take another week.

I can now read group chat. That means that LL has gotten new hamsters to run their computers, or they have gotten new tape for their mainframe computer.

Another update. I can read messages in a couple of groups. But not in the rest. Perhaps later tonight, or tomorrow morning, I will be able to read messages in other groups.

Still not able to read messages in group chat. I wonder what is taking LL so long? I hope it will be working tomorrow. Tomorrow will be seven days without reading group chat.

I still can't read group chat. But I did look at the status page. Below is the update.

Hey BillJakes, if you are premium, you can live chat with a Linden. I talked to Rocko Linden this morning. He said that they are working on it. I'm still having the problem. Last night, I unplugged the modem for a couple of minutes. That still didn't work.
The hours that you can chat with a Linden is from 9 AM ET, to 5 PM ET. Yesterday I did file a ticket. This morning it said it was still being processed.

I got on this morning, and it is still the same. I still can't read group chat. Anybody else having this problem? I'm hoping that somebody at LL will reply. I did read the grid status. LL posted that last week. You would think they would have that fixed by now.

So I long on at 5;30 PM ET, and I can't read group chat. I can post messages, and everybody in the group can read it, but I can't. I can read a personal IM. That is no problem. And it is not just me. Somebody I know had that happen to them two weeks ago. She couldn't read group chat for about a week. I did file a ticket. But I would hate to go for a week without reading group chat.
So what is going on? This keeps happening over, and over. Is anybody else on here having the same problem? I don't mean a few days ago, or last week. But right now.

LL should accept Bitcoin. Then there would be no fees. Or better yet, accept L$ as payment for premium, and tier. No fees there either.

It is a website for a server that is located in SL. So I think it does have some relevance to SL.

I'm trying to set up an ad server. And I want to set up a website, for the ad server to communicate to. The server will be showing a different ad every 30 seconds, and repeat every 60 minutes. I signed up at heroku. After signing up, I went to my page. The page says create a new app. I don't want to create an app, I want to build a web page. I set the language as PHP. Another thing. It says I have 512 MB of RAM. But I don't know how much bandwidth I get. I got the free version. But I don't know if that would be enough. Another place I signed up was 000webhost. They offer 10 GB of bandwidth. I'm not sure yet which one offers a better deal. I have somebody else making the server. He will tell me what to type. I need to know what to click on.
The ads will be on the server, not on the website. The ads will be for stores, and clubs in SL.
So if anybody on here uses heroku, 000webhost, or another hosting website for in world servers, let me know. I also have a Wix.com account. I signed up to about three websites last week. Wasn't sure which one was the best. I did set up an account on Wordpress a couple of years ago. But that was for links to some comic strips. So I have set up websites before, but nothing like this.
Now a question to LL. In the creators forum, why is there no place for websites? Lots of servers in SL, need a website in order to work.
