I can assure you it's no more of a nightmare than any other object you switch out in an outfit, such as hair. Consider the new body as you would a new wig and proceed accordingly. Don't update old outfits, just use it in new ones if it suits you.

I switch between bodies and avatars on a daily basis with no issues whatsoever.

Thank you Cayenne! I've been practicing back and forth between Lara 5.3 and Senra Jamie.😀

Everyone has their own way of doing things.

I've boxed up 2 of the bodies and clothes for them that I don't use - TMC & Maitreya Lara. I have Belleza Isis and Freya in the same folder with their shapes and HUDs, because even though there aren't enough clothes available for Isis, both bodies use the same HUDs, so a few more items in one folder isn't a big deal.

I label my folders with letters after the primary description to note which bodies they fit.  B * means Belleza, which practically speaking means Freya. M means Maitreya, but when Lara X comes out, I'll label outfits that fit Lara X with MX. (I expect many of my Lara skins and clothing will work fine with Lara X. ) GenX means Belleza Gen X Classic for me, since I won't wear Curvy. If I ever get a Reborn body, I'd use Re to label folders for it. If I want to find skins or clothes in my inventory for that body, I only need to search on B *, M, GenX or Re. Clothing I like best also gets a * at the beginning of the Folder title, so it's at the top of each folder.

I hardly ever use outfits, but if I did, I'd use the same code letters on their folder names.

Your shape is of course mostly dependent on your mesh head, so I'd keep a shape for that head and your favorite body/ bodies in the folder for each head. The same shape could be used for multiple mesh heads from the same brand, but you might prefer a specific shape for each one. Likewise, you might want a slender, a curvy, or maybe even a pregnant version for your bodies, so just keep properly labeled bodies either all in one folder or in multiple folders.

All this labeling and organization might not work for you. I'm a Virgo, so it works best for me.

    p.s

Just to add an example similar to Ceka's

    [Body] folder
       [* Mesh Bodies] folder
[* Freya, Isis, v? - (Persephone Shape) - Belleza] - includes multiple mesh bodies, shapes & HUDs
[GenX Curvy Lite, v? - Belleza] - includes mesh body, shape, HUDs etc.
[Maitreya Lara v5.3 - Maitreya] - includes mesh body, shape, HUDs etc.

        [* Mesh Heads] folder
[*  River head (EvoX), v? - Lelutka] - includes mesh head, shape, HUDs, etc.
[* Raven head (EvoX), v? - Lelutka] - includes mesh head, shape, HUDs, etc.

         [* Skins] folder
              [*  Light Skins - BOM 2020+] folder
                      [*  Body Skins, B * - Light Tones - Nuve]
[* Molly (EvoX) - Light Tones - Nuve]

               [* Fantasy Skins - BOM 2020+] folder
                       [*  Body Skins, B * - Snow, Alaba, Fantasy Tones - Nuve]
[ *  Body Skins, GenX - Nebula, Helix - Nuve]
[* Molly (EvoX) - Snow, Alaba, Fantasy Tones - Nuve]
                       [* ??? (EvoX) - Nebula, Helix - Nuve]

    [Clothes] folder
         [ ! Clothes to Sort ! ] folder

        [*  Dresses - Spring/Summer Mesh] folder
              [* Sofia - Sleeveless, Long, Black/Blue Ombre, M B * - ViSion]

Thanks so much, Persephone . Your help is greatly appreciated.

It's not that hard of a thing really, just organize the naming of the  outfit folder or it can become confusing..

Anything you have on at the time will be saved to the outfit folder, so once you create it, you can jump to a body pretty quickly..

I keep a, From Scratch outfit folder, which I made from resetting my avatar to default, so that everything is removed.. This way I don't have to spend time taking things off.. I also use that for when I want to start from scratch when creating a new look or have any problems with an outfit folder loading..

I keep a nude version folder of each of the bodies I use, which the naming of the folder will be where  I want it to sit in the outfit folder..

Here is an example of how I set the placement in the outfit folder so things stay organized..

    !                                             FROM SCRATCH

    !                                   MAITREYA NUDE

    !                             REBORN NUDE

    !                      ERIKA NUDE

    !                BELLEZA FREYA NUDE

Then each body folder I make, I start with the body name and name of the outfit after the body name..This way they will sit in order under the their own category..

So it will look like.. The spacing from the left to the right is important and keeps the folders in the order..Then setting the folder name alphabetical under each body name..

    !                                             FROM SCRATCH

    !                                   MAITREYA NUDE

    !                                MAITREYA ApocolypChica

    !                                MAITREYA BIKER GIRL

    !                                MAITREYA HUNTER

    !                             REBORN NUDE

    !                          REBORN BABY BLUE

    !                          REBORN  NATA COWGIRL

    !                          REBORN NATA SHOPPER

    !                       ERIKA NUDE

    !                 BELLEZA FREYA NUDE

The hardest part was being able to find the looks I was wanting before, but now  I just go right to the folder and it's just a matter of right clicking the folder I want and replacing current outfit..

if there is any problem with folders  not taking something off or something not loading.. I replace the current outfit with my From Scratch outfit and then load the folder I want..

So you can jump from body to body and outfit to outfit really easy with a right click and a click.. The hardest part of it all is just  putting on the things at first to create the folder, plus making sure you have a default from scratch for when folders go goofy..  hehehehe

So really  all I will have to do is make a LARA X Category and place it either above or below the Maitreya category like this.. More to the right and it will sit above the Maitreya category, more to the left and it will sit below the Maitreya category..

    !                                             FROM SCRATCH

    !                                     LARA X

    !                                   MAITREYA NUDE

    !                                  LARA X

Thank you for your prompt response, Ceka! The information you have kindly provided has been exceptionally valuable and greatly appreciated.

  4. I've returned to SL after an extended hiatus and have been using the Maitreya body exclusively during my two years back in the virtual world. In the past, I've only saved and switched between different Evo-X heads, but now I'm curious if it's possible to save and switch between various bodies effortlessly. I understood a previous poster to say that switching back and forth between bodies is a nightmare.

I have already saved clothing sets that I may wear again, but I'm not sure if the same approach can be applied to bodies....for example, saving a clothing set wearing Lara 5.3 and then switching to an outfit wearing Lara X (when she is available) or any other body.

While this may seem like a simple question to some, I would appreciate guidance and insights from the experienced members of the community.

Thank you for your time and expertise. I look forward to learning from your valuable input.
