  1. Hi there I'm Meka! I'm looking for a friend or friends who like to use Blender and build for fun. I have people who like to rp on my list, but no one to really share what I'm building/rigging. So I'd like a friend to share my projects and ideas with, to give and receive constructive criticism and motivate each other as I fiddle in mesh making. If you're looking for the same thing send me an IM.
  2. I'm looking for a Mesh builder who has some free time, and is able to build low LI items fairly well. I'd like to have Grocery store shelves, Meat and Produce Coolers, Freezers with products on it made, for a more up to date and detailed grocery store. All I've been able to find on market place are the textured Prims, and while they work I don't really care for the look of them and want something a bit more 3D. I'm willing to pay, I know this is quite the undertaking, because it requires a lot of componants. I wouldn't want the grocery store shelving exclusivly either, so the creator can resell, I think there would even be a good market for the items from sim builders/owners, and other people who have urban home plots. If you are interested, please drop a notecard on Meka Aeon in world, or post here so we can discuss pricing. Have a great day. :)

  4. Haha thank you, that means a lot, made me feel awesome. It's a little more pointy in places than I'd like, (Like the bun) but I'm trying to keep vert count low, so hoping to get better at manipulating meshes and such. Though if anyone has some useful tips, I'm all ears.
  5. I'm just working on some hair currently, It's my hobby and I do it when I have time. I don't have any modeling experiance, just what I've managed to teach myself. I really need to practice more, but I don't think I'm doing to bad for just starting. ^^
  6. FF was/is Fantasy Faire. If I do a tutorial, I'll ping it your way, until then just keep trying, you'll get it. ^^
  7. Blender has a high learning curve, but stick with it. It took me months of just toying around, getting ticked off, quitting, then coming back to Blender before I sat down and actually made my first hairs. I also signed up for FF so I HAD to get it done, which motivated me. Honestly though, don't give up, it gets better. As for unresponsive, that may be your mouse, mine started dying on me and I had to get a new one half way through my hairs, I'd start with that before going on to memory. I also saw you were looking for a tutorial on hair, I might make one in the next few months, when I'm a little more familiar with the program and so I can produce better quality items, because I'm by no means a Truth, Wasabi Pills, or Ploom ETC. As for Maya, I've personally never worked in it, or with it, so I can't tell you if it'd be easier or not. I've heard the UI is a little friendlier, but I'm more than happy with my results in Blender and what I'm capable of doing with it, but that's honestly a preference thing. Plus, it's free and I think a good way to start out.
  8. Hey there Tenly, figured I'd post and see if I could answer your questions on Bezier Curves. I'm a noob too, mind you, this is based off my experience. Recently I made my first mesh hairs (Woo!) using Bezier curves and paths, I'm not an expert at making mesh or sculpts, like I said these were my first attempts, and Code gave you a lot of good information on polygon count, and he's far more knowledgeable since I'm still toying with all this mesh stuff. Are there snags and draw backs to using Bezier curves (As well as Paths) Yes. The biggest draw back I found when using Bezier curves is that when you convert them to mesh, they have a very high verities and face count if you don't remember to drop the Resolution in Blender. There are two places to do this. Resolution, in the Shape menu, it's called Preview, by default it's 12. I think I dropped it down to 4 or 5. Then the Resolution in Geometry, by default it's 0, I try to keep it at 1 maybe 2 at highest. Both of these influence your model when you convert it into Mesh. So my advice, is with each piece you make, play with your resolution count and try to make it as low as possible for each piece, without having each piece terribly distorted and jagged looking. Second draw back, you cannot do things like taper Bezier curves, while in curve form. So when you convert it to Mesh and go to taper off and seal the ends you'll likely have to add your own ring of vertices. This can be a bit of a pain, time consuming to get things as smooth as you want. You will likely have to add your own sets of vertices (I did) and if you aren't careful and add too many, you're back to square one of having a mesh with a high count. Anyway, there's my two cents on them. They are useful, I found manipulating pieces into place easier, though, not so much as far as rotating went, I did a lot of that in edit mode, and I did a lot of fine stretching, like widening, and tapering in edit mode as well. Hope that helped.
  9. Alright, so last year on the marketplace, I saw a full perm set of sculpted christmas lights. It had curvey pieces, straight pieces so on so forth, I even think the lights might have been seprate from the strands, that I'm not sure about. But that doesn't matter. On the market place, I also saw pieces of outfits with some of these sculpts on them as acessories and the like. I was wondering if anyone might know who the creator was? I've looked all over Marketplace, I can't find them, I figured maybe the creator got ticked at marketplace and took them down, and it's possible they left sl all together. So if that's the case, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who'd be willing to make christmas string lights for me to use full perm for some builds I have in mind? (If you are willing to, please contact me in world and we can discuss payment and such.) Unfortunately I'm really, really bad at making sculpts and mesh. So, if anyone has time, if you could please answer my questions, that'd be great. Meka. :)
  10. I've been getting this horrible error. I have a few items that for some reason will not list, I've tried going into edit and hitting the 'active' button. I've tried going to the actions drop down menu on the listing page and clicking 'list'. However I just keep getting 'Product State Not Changed:' Anyone give me a hand here? This started after I uploaded everything direct. :/

    Mesh Error?

Actually upon checking the shoes, there are no scripts in them, I'm starting to think it's a firestorm error. Though I have sent a note to the creator.

    Mesh Error?

Alright, so I bought a pair of mesh shoes and for some reason when I put them on, I get two pyramids floating above them, and the ‘script’ error comes up though there is nothing in the box. I’ve tried other mesh shoes and items on and things are fine, it just seems to be these shoes and I don’t understand what’s causing the problem because my partner can see them fine and I can even select the shoes, though they are ‘invisible’ to me. The problem happens in Firestorm 3.2.2.24336 The shoes showed up in Viewer 2 Anyone know how to fix this? My OS is: Windows 7 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.9GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Hard Drive: 1 TB Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series Pictures Below!
  13. I don't mean to sound like a total noob, as I've used Qavimator off and one quite a few times. I've even figured out how to add a second avatar to the program so that I can possibly use them as a prop to position my other avatar. However, I can't figure out how to remove the avatars once I have them on screen. Does anyone know how?
