  1. I just had this happen to me today. I always pay my rent a month at a time, have been for almost 6 months now. I go inworld to build and find myself locked out of the sim I rent. ( I rent a half sim for 9900L a week). I paid around $200 USD for the necessary tier and always screenshot my confirmation of payment. It appears my landlord did not pay her landlord, which was the actual estate owner... so 10 sims have now been given the old "heave ho". I tried to reason with the estate owner and showed her my transaction history, to which she replied "I'm sorry about this, but I don't have to honor a contract that wasn't with ME. You paid YOUR landlord and SHE didn't pay me. I got screwed here." To which I replied, "well it's nice to see the screwing gets passed along!". This is wrong, THIS is why so many folks leave SL and don't come back. LL needs to pull their heads out of their rears and defend those of us who are being scammed like this and the fraud of so much money. Yes, I used to be a premium member, but it's hard to find the amount of land you want at a decent price!
  2. Aspen Springs is a new community sim that is family friendly, does a lot of RP and is quite fun. You might want to check it out.
  3. I have also had this problem in the past. I created a table for kid sized avatars and called it the kiddie play table (you know, to play cards etc). This made my item banned, so I tried again, this time calling it the Kid's Table... and you guessed it, Kid's is also banned. LL needs to post a listing of all banned words so we can make sure our listings are suitable for the MP, but that's as likely to happen as monkeys flying out of my posterior end
  4. To be a successful DJ, you need broadcasting software (most use SAM which if you google it, you can get a free download for SAM2), a stream (which you can rent inworld) and a large, diverse selection of music. It is preferred for a DJ to use their mic and speak to the crowd at various points of their gig, between songs, to welcome folks to the club... to announce the contest if there is one, and for other reasons. Feel free to IM me inworld if you have any questions, I own Elite Music Productions, which supplies clubs with DJs and at one time I ran the Fata Morgana DJ school on the mainland of Vashti. I can help you get sorted out
  5. yay!!! You are the best! Script is running like a champ and my fireplace has never been better Thanks once again
  6. That's a brilliant fix! Thanks again Only one problem I'm noticing though, I have to not allow the fire prim to have glow set to make the script work. This sadly makes the fire look pretty nasty. Any suggestions or changes you think might help the script in that area?
  7. Thanks Rolig! Would you suggest just adding that to the changes by the previous poster or replacing the script entirely with what you have suggested?
  8. I tried the changes to that script, I have the same one I use for building.. unfortunately even the 2nd go around with that script only literally stops the flames and makes them static, it doesn't "turn them off" and make the prim invisible. If someone does come up with a change to that script, I'd be grateful as I wish to be able to turn my fireplaces on and off since I despise particle flames.
  9. I'm not sure what to tell you, I'd send an email to Rodvik Linden. He's about the only person in Linden Labs that really cares about the residents. I had no luck with customer support until I emailed Rodvik, once he got my email I had a resolution within a few hours. Don't waste time with the reps on the phone, most really don't care about your problems (or at least that has been my experience). When you email Rodvik, be concise and straight to the point, give him the facts and keep the dramatics to a minimum. Once he knows the exact problem, and ticket info if any, he will do all he can to assist you.
  10. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most likely you will never see that inventory again if relogging and clearing your cache doesn't work. I've been fighting for well over a month with Linden Labs to have my inventory restored when most of mine was wiped out by their error during our lovely outages. I wish you the best of luck but unless you're a premium member (and even then help is unlikely), you won't be able to open an effective ticket nor will your inventory ever be restored and you will be out the money you've spent. Try sending a notecard to the merchants with proof of transaction and ask them to resend the product to you, that's about the best you can hope for.
