  1. Well I asked and the lab has no provision for special event planning or help.

    Any suggestions have to be done via blog or forums. L:inend lab has noway a residedent can communicate other than these.

    I  looks like support can help if the region is experiencing trouble *unless *the trouble is caused by girefers. So its down to the AR system whic isi never responded to and help never given.

  2. People are saying that mainland and  linden land simply cannot have events planned on it, if true this a disaster for the lab. .

     At the core of SL is community and even relative hermits want to use their land and maybe show stuff to people..

    I think every Sler,or at lhe least every premium Sler,  DOES have the right to expect that the lindens will respond straight away if they cant attend or run or plan an event because of griefing. Second life looks bad to someone, perhaps many someones, everytime an event fails to happen. 

    Fixing that event should have taken five minutes maximum.

    They will be (already have been) spending around twenty times that long responding to the ticket and explaining why they didnt act. 

    They really will be.

    I hate to think how many man hours they have spent  following up on this one issue for this one event, every week.  

    Gosh if they just came for less than five minutes every time we needed, over a year and half that would have added up to a total spend of time less than the time it is taking them in NOT taking five minutes (three minutes if they were good and had clue about how to do it) for this single time- last Sundays event!

I know some small scale landlords who do not make money, they rent bitsof their land to friends and community members at just above cost of those prims, and are quite happy using on the rest themselves. This gives them possibility they may make money if a place gets all rented up, butthey are really just enjoying second life with chosen neighbours! so it may be wise to ask a few landlords how they make money, sometimes the answer may surprise.

    I attend, and sometimes help run a weekly speed build,that is not on a private island, and it is pretty much always the subject of griefing,

    Live support wont help. Well sometimes they promise to come (not  to ban anyone,just to clear away the prims that are making sounds, particles and clogging the place up) but they have never actually come.

    As I know the event will be held at the same time and place every week, should I submit a pre-emptive griefing report, I could do up to 12 weeks in advance? Does anyone know if that would increase the likelyhoood of a response? Im not being sarcastic in any way, this is a serious actual question.

    Last weeks event was moved due the primsof someone that many people claim to have reported for weeks. It seems we have no repsonse to long term or short term requests for help. Would a 12 week lead in time be enough? the chances they will not be needed are slim.

    It is impossible to plan and advertise the event. We do anyway, optomists that we are, And we have had to move the event so  very often it is becoming the norm.

    Also would anyone know how I ask to get policy changed so that lab develops a policy of responding in a timely manner when events on linden land or mainland are being disrupted? Such a policy would I think help the lab a lot, (and would definitely help my event- I am motivated!)

     

     

     

  5. All those many people coming together. Meeting when they would not otherwise meet. Everyone building to the theme provided to celebrate the birthday. Maybe SL hasnt got enough people left to populate 20 sims? I dont understand at all.

    Sl can do something no-one else can. They can host an event like Birthday. Only SL can do that.

    Events like birthday are what makes SL not boring. In an environment w ithout imposed deadlines and achievment goals it can be difficult to maintain focus, for many of us events like birthday provided that. impetus/structure. 

    And getting us to check other social media is just insulting. SL is social media. doh.

    It is such a waste and a shame. They could easily have tacked a special page in events onto the  usual sl birthday celebration and everyone would of been happy.

    After  SLs failure over years to address the concerns of more than third of its users about viewers they need to be out there proving to us they actually do care. This is not how towin friends and influence people.

    they could just put one sim to a server to get rid of lag,, no-one would even know they cheated, so this isnt about  server performance.

    What is this years birthday theme?

  6. Now that phoenix provides mesh in viewer one type interface,it is standard.

    I do wish ll would update their viewer . The people still on  linden standard viewer one  cannot see mesh.and are unlikley to ever change viewer. I dont blame them, I hate change too, but the lab is years behind updating that viewer.

I  am quite upset that in more than year ll has pretty much ignored feedback from current users and not scrambled to either resume updating viewer one or make viewer 2 have "old user" mode that emulates v1, enabling users to switch over to v2 style element by as element as they become accustomed.

    As it is I crash all the time on v2 and despite being a person who spends all her time and money in SL, I find that I got this computer new in february and im not willing to buy yet another new computer for SL. i need more of a show of faith from LL.

     I am actually a bit of power user of SL and I  feel stupid bad and incapable of coping  everytime I get on v2. This is not a feeling I pay money for , or seek.

    Ignoring current customers while chasing new ones is a clasic small business mistake.
