  1. LOL its not about the amount of money, it's about the principle and consumer protection and yes a lot of drama is evolving out of this that could of been avoided had the store provided me the item or the money (less than US$2) to repurchase the item... Bottom line is I bought an item, I didn't get it, and the store refuses to redeliver the item or refund my money - I am trying to avoid using terms like Fraudulent, Thievery, Rip Off Artists, etc. hence nefarious business practices!

I posted this a couple of days ago and I explained in detail in this situation and had mentioned who the seller was, the person I had been dealing with, and the brand name / store but the post was removed because of perceived TOS violation.

Its OK for the store behave as mentioned but as a consumer and a long term subscriber, it's not OK for me to complain about it or bring about public attention to matter in order to warn other consumers of this store's failed customer service procedures.

  2. Well I could argue that under such circumstances and in the competitive markets it is important for sellers to nurture customer loyalty by giving the customer the benefit of the doubt.

I have been a member in SL since 2006- I am not some newbie resident trying to pull a fast one:  I provided the account details of the transaction and explained what I was going to do with the item and that I had already invested heavily in my haunt (verifiable location) and that I would be purchasing more items from this store as soon as the delivery issue was resolved.

There was enough facts to enable the seller to make an informed decision in this situation and that I was customer worth taking care of - heck it was only L450!! And in my opinion an amount not worth losing a customer and jeopardizing brand integrity over.

And to make matters worst, I am told that Linden Labs will not get involved in this matter yet they will do whatever they can to prevent a resident from speaking out against stores who engage in nefarious business practices.  I guess the Linden Labs would intervene if I owned several sims and paid large amounts each month and threatened to cancel if they did not resolve this but as a small land owner, I mean nothing to them.

No wonder subscribership has diminished so dramatically over the last few years...

  3. Thanks for your advise.  It never fails to amaze me how SL mirrors RL: There are more rights for "Wrong Doers" then there are for victims.

I attempted to explain to the only person I could reach, that I was ready to spend a lot more money at their location (on the spot) as I prepared for my Halloween Haunt and resolving this issue would of enable that process to continue.  Their shortsightedness was and is incredulous!

Oh well, this store's in game reputation is suffering more then me losing out on some Lindens. My group which has 1300+ members is aware of this situation and boycott signs are up at my locations and hopefully no more people will be victemised by their poor customer service and business practices.

  4. How do I file a complaint with the Lindens about a retailer -  xxxx that sells Gorean & Medieval products who refuses to either refund my money or redeliver an Large Halloween Spider that never came when purchased? I do not see an option for this on the support page or in game not to mention the In Game Abuse interface requires a screen shot and I can no longer get to that location because I have been banned as part of this xxxx customer service dispute resolution procedures... Your assistance in this matter would be appreciated. Thanks

  5. This is a Halloween complex with 4 main areas to explore. They are a Graveyard , A Spook House Ride, A carnival area, and a Haunted House.

The graveyard includes an old chirch ruin but there is no dressing to it so don't expect anything to happen while ascending the multiple levels.  The graveyard itself is cluttered with cheesy emitter effects

The carnival consists of a ride, a clown tent and a few interactive stalls that charges you Lindens to play them. *raises an eyebrow

The Spook House Ride would of been better had the cars actually rez'd so I walked thru.  Some of the diaramas are done quite well and overall it was ok but really short.

The Haunted House is large with many rooms and many doors that open without any sound - really?? What's Haunted House without squeeky doors!?

And there is a little strip mall with nothing very exciting in it.

Some thought and effort was put into this presentation and it is worth a visit but could be a lot better with a few changes.

  6. The Halloween Sim is basically a Mall decorated in a Halloween Theme to showcase their Halloween retail items.  While visually interesting, the designers missed out on the use of ambient sound effects which leaves one with an incomplete feeling while walking about.

They have a "Cave of Doom" to explore which is a maze with some lame animations and alphas that are triggered and again, painfully missing ambient sound effects! Not worth the time.

Then there is the in store Haunted House Hunt where one walks though another maze of sorts searching for several pairs their boots.  All were free except one box that had a 5L charge (??? Oversight perhaps).  This maze at least presents much better visuals in a surreal format but once more the designers failed to use ambient sounds.

Worth a visit and you may find a fun Halloween item or two to buy but not much of a Haunted Attraction.

  7. I visited Scared To Death! Halloween Haunted House Ride today and enjoyed it.

One sits in a pumpkin car that follows a path through many theme rooms. It is a fairly long ride lasting several minutes but some of the rooms are rather boring.  But a lot of work went into this Halloween attraction and it is definitely worth the visit!

  8. The Haunted Manor is my first attempt at a Haunted House in SL.  It is not a private Sim but  It's a large lot with several areas of interest to explore.

The Manor itself has a basement, main floor, second floor, and an attic. You can even climb up onto the roof.  There is a back door exit from the kitchen on the main floor leading out to the rear exterior where one can find a small graveyard and haunted pool.

There are also many interactive elements to be touched, bumped into, walked on, and sat upon. So explore everything. DO NOT CAMERA VIEW otherwise you won't trigger any of the effects!

Of course a Midnight Sun Setting is recommended and one should remove as many scripted attachments as possible in order to improve performance.

So come on down and let me know what you think and have a Safe and Spooky Halloween!

    See you there!

  9. Have you created Haunted House for Halloween?  Do you know of a Haunted House that is worth visiting?

Lets create a directory exculsive to 2011 Halloween Haunted Houses and Halloween themed Sims.  Please post details with an image (optional) and a map link to the location.

In Addtion to this thread, I have created a Haunted House Portal in game where I have complied a list of Haunted Attracted Attractions you can visit with direct Teleports to the locations.

    Go To: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Solbim/58/209/47

So send me (in game) a full perm Logo texture and the landmark to the location and I will add it to the teleport boards.

PLESE NOTE: This thread is not to be used for retail sales, Hunts, or events of any kind.

  10. Yes you can go with a group but within obvious limitations as this is not a private sim and LAG is always an issue in SL!  However, it's a large lot with several areas of interest to explore.

Of course a Midnight Sun Setting is recommended and one should remove as many scripted attachments as possible.

The entrance has a Script Weigh pad to stand on which will send a chat message letting you know if you are light or script heavy.

    See you there!

  11. LOL don't be puzzeled. I am aware of the Support Ticket process and have good and very bad experiences with Linden/Merchant resolution time lines ranging from days to months...

I appreciate the help but I am venting more then I am requesting assistance :)  and until this situation has been resolved, the bottom line is I neither have the item nor the $$.

  12. I am aware of the inventory bug and thankfully that has not happened to me since 2006 (*touches wood) [and not "THAT" type of wood] but I recieved all the other items prior and after (I am on a buying spree for a Haunted House I am building) without delay or disappearance... so I rule out the bug... this is purely an SL glitch that has resulted in lost Lindens and a lost item.  And to make matters worse, I have spoken with a person in that product group who has been waiting weeks for someone to address a similar problem with their purchase.

  13. Why is the taking of the money never fails but getting what one paid for does... I paid for an item, got the delivery pop-up, click Keep but never got the item...

Also, I can't clear or adjust amounts in my chart for the last several hours either, I can add items, but each time I click the Update Quantities button I get this message ..

So sorry to keep you waiting. We'll be right back!

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly.

    Continue  Shopping

  14. I had discussed it with another designer who said she was willing to do it if she kept the idea and gave me the a free item inexchange but when I asked for a little profit split she then changed her mind saying she was no longer feeling it... I have screen shots of the converstaion - not that it would realy matter except reveal her integrity... LOL she did seem nice enough though.

  15. OK thank you.

I was considering purchasing  the "Prizes for Picks" board at Lucky Designs  (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondly/Bermuda/49/37/23) which claims to "Improve Your Second Life Search Engine Rankings" and even though there is a disclaimer stating that "in the event that Linden Lab alters the way that SL profile information can be accessed from the web, this device MAY stop working."  it also states " We have no reason to expect that these services will be withdrawn any time soon (if at all!), and we expect your "Prizes for Picks" to give you many years of reliable service."

Based on what you have told me, it would appear that this product would be a waste of  money!

    I am glad I checked first. :)
