  4. In the picture below, attaching my rigged mesh adds a parasitic twin copy of my rigged mesh object to the hand. It has reverse normals.It does not behave as a rigged mesh. The actual mesh is rigged just fine, and fits the body as it should, with normal normals. It doesn't exist when I put it on the ground. It textures separately from the main mesh. What is going on here? Using Maya 2011.
  5. YES! I think there were multiple UV maps accidentally. I deleted the UVs and it stopped happening. Thank you, Drongle! I should add this to the wiki with the list of error messages. I surely can't be the only one to ever try to upload something with more than one UV map and watch the uploader vomit it back out at me.
  6. Some more troubleshooting facts: So I tried the FBX converter. I'm still getting the same message. No luck there. I've saved it as an obj and reimported it to Maya, then re-rigged it. No luck. I get the error message even when it isn't rigged. It only has one material. So my next best thing is to try to figure out what that error actually means. Does TC Indices mean texture coordinate indices? Does anyone have any technical knowledge or links info about the TC indices causing the error?
  7. I'm getting this error message in the log file when trying to upload my mesh file.. it used to upload successfully, but I've tweaked it somehow and can't get it to work. The Official viewer just says "Error: element is invalid" and "Missing required level of detail." I'm using Maya 2011.

  9. Can anyone point me to some rigged mesh sample files for maya? I'm having a hard time troubleshooting out a hideous problem with my rigged mesh skin weights. Everything looks fine in Maya and fine in the upload preview, until i turn on the preview of the skin weights. Then its collapses and gets all messed up. If I upload that file, it will look normal on the ground and messed up when worn. I'd like to rule out if its something in my files, my process or my preferences by testing someone else's rigged mesh maya file and its subsequet dae file. It doesnt have to be proprietary work, it can just be a barrel rigged around the body. I've followed sae luan's video process and using her setup files too. I've tried it so many different ways with my own files and still keep getting the same result, so now I think its time to try with someone else's files.
  10. So all my meshes collapse when attached to the body. This should be a barrel shape going around the body. It looks fine on the ground. Any ideas for what i'm doing wrong?
