There is no way to change these informations. But - tedious as it is: just note all the values of the shape, create a new one and enter the values. Then you are the creator, plus you have taken a close look if you still like them. It is a bit of work, but I think it is worth it.

There are two explanations for this: 1. It is just your bad luck... 2. He gave you a scripted item you are wearing (HUD or some other attachment). The script could tell him where you are - for example a collar, some kind of jewelry etc.

You need to run SL in "Advanced Mode", You can select that on the start-page.
