Good. It's about time LL did something right.
Were LL to allow this sham to continue, they would be tacitly agreeing that Linden Impersonation was fine and dandy.
And it's not.

Sounds like "Avatar Imposters" is kicking in. its a lower resource way to render avatars in large numbers. You can turn Avatar Impostors down in the Graphics preferences. But if you're seeing it in the first place, it's probably because your system's specs are pretty low and/or you're in a very crowded area. Turning it off may give you really bad frame rates.

IE8 and LL's Viewer 2 work fine with SLURLs. I suspect the problem is with your viewer.

No problem. If you're into shopping, probably good to stay away from EBay anyway, it's like putting a kid in a candy store.

It's running on EBay techonology, so it's exactly like EBay. If you've ever used EBay, you'll be quite familiar.

Having your draw distance at 500 is ridiculously excessive. There's no need to know what's going on 3 sims away. Try 128, or better yet 64.

I'd vote for Kirsten's Viewer. It's what I use.

Yes, it is possible to profit at the $125 tier rate in spite of what other people might say.
Really? Well, perhaps you can elaborate on this since one would have to compete with so many Homesteads with a monthly tier of $95.00 per month. I would be very interested in hearing how it can be done - seriously.
- Make your rent high enough to make a profit.
- Give outstanding customer service.
- Make your sims beautiful, and not a boring pancake.
People will gladly pay more for this.

Hollie Wood makes some great cars. Look her up in-world. : )

Yes, I wouldn't really worry about rendering cost too much. It's kind of an arbitrary number. As long as you're not lagging when you look at yourself, it's probably fine. : ) (waits for the tofu prim eaters to come naysay)

Unfortunately that's impossible to say. The textures on the avatar will consume some bandwidth, until they are finished downloading. As the avatar moves, it will generate messages to your viewer, telling the viewer how it moved, these use bandwidth. But the most bandwidth has little to do with avatars directly at all. It's all mostly texture/sound downloads, and 'event' messages when something changes in the environment.
The larger your draw distance, the more 'events' the viewer will be notified about, the more textures that will be downloaded, and the more bandwidth you will use.

Limits are by script memory. From my understanding the target for *overall* script memory per sim will be 200 megs. That will have to be divided amongst avatars (attachment memory pool) and parcels (land memory pool).
The 100,000 $L question is how these pools will be allocated. LL hasn't given an indication yet. But having sat down and did my own math, i just know likely nobody will be very happy about the new limits. To give either group a sizable pool, will come at the expense of the other.

Keli K: It was not meant to be. I was hoping people would see the difference between user names and display names and think it was funny, I also think what type font is displayed makes a very big difference. Both the top and the bottom are “i” “L” and the number one...
If you think that is funny, then I guess you think people putting on police uniforms, installing blue lights on their cars, and pulling people over in their cars is funny too. "haha just kidding, I'm not really a police officer!"
Guess what, that's something that will get you in serious trouble too. Impersonation of offcials, people that we as a society are supposed to trust, is never funny.
