Honestly, I don't. Wouldn't bother be a bit if it was never implemented. /me shrugs

I do have a Linux PC. This is a labor of love, so to speak.

A good question would be what libraries from 1.23 are compatable? Anyone know?
-
Yep. I'm trying to download all the libraries now.
If I suceed, I will share with the community.

Unfortunately, Snowstorm does not support PPC machines (PowerPC based Macs) out of the box - at least I don't believe so. But the source is there.
-
I forgot to add - that includes any TPV v2 based viewer.
-
I have a dual 2.7ghz G5 with 4 gig and an ATI Radeon 9650 - this machine is definitely powerful enough to run second life. I'd like to build a V2 based viewer from source for it, if that's even possible.
I'd like anyone interested to post in this thread. Let's see if we can get a build done. If possible.

There is no virus in Phoenix. Your virus protection is giving you a false positive.

Gadget Portal wrote:You've offered no technical details or system specs. Seemed more like you were just saying V2 doesn't run well. Ok, then. Please tell me why I can only get 5fps with this laptop with LL's latest viewer.

CPU: AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology ML-42 (2412.36 MHz)
Memory: 2047 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Service Pack 2 (Build 6002)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce Go 7900 GS/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!

I stated explicitly that that V2 runs at 5fps. I can get 25fps with EVERY other viewer I've tried. There is nothing wrong with my system configuration. Evidently, you didn't read or understand the original post. Many other people have this problem, as you can see by the multiple threads in this forum. And I certainly don't need your "help". I didn't ask for it, either.
-
I've already set it much ower then the default settings. Your statement is not at all helpful.
-
I did, and nope. I even tried the latest development. If anything, it's worse. But if they don't care why should I, I guess. *shrugs*
-
I just downloaded the latest development viewer. 6fps! So it's getting worse and worse. Nobody is going to stay at 6fps! Certainly not me.

I have a Dell GX620 and I found an nvidia 8400GT card with 512M that works fine. You will have to find a used one though. My Dell does have PCIe.
-
Indeed. I can have higher graphics settings in some TPV's and it still beats the pants off LL's newest V2, FPS wise.
If TPV's can do it, LL should be able to. That's my point.
-
I try every single version, and it's the same every time. Half the FPS as several alternatives, including some TPV V2 based versions. If they can do it, why can't you? I don't understand.
-
What's the verdict? Thanks.
-
Yes, it's pretty much true. V1 based viewers are on the way out. Sad but true.

Phony reviews were posted to counter mine.

I bought an item from the market place. The merchant absolutlely will not make good. I wrote a review explaining my negative experiences, and it was astro-turfed. The merchant is lying on the market place and ripping people off. What can I do to get justice?

I have reported your post. Phoenix users are not the ones spreading hate. Quoted to prove my point.
-
Just like this post is negative propaganda against Phoenix, and it is equally untrue, in my opinion.

I see my post was deleted for speaking the truth. Censorship is alive and well.

It's slow, cumbersome - simply awful. And if I'm forced to use it, it will degrade my Second Life experience terribly. It freezes, it's jerky - I could write a book on it's shortcomings. And really - I've tried hard to use it and make it work. I can't. I can't even walk around without it freezing up.
Please think of your customers, LL. Give us a choice not to use it. Don't force it on us.
Desperately need slviewer-darwin-libs-oss-viewer-1.23.4.139024.tar.gz files libs for snowglobe

I'm attempting a build of snowglobe 1.4 on my PPC mac. It's a dual 2.7ghz dual processor machine with 4 gigs and an ATI Radeon 9650. No reason why I can't use it. Except LL quit supporting PPC. So I'm attempting to roll my own viewer. Please help if you can, I will share my results with the community.
Thanks
