Never click any unknown links in world. Phishing is the number one way to have your account compromised. If you click on a link inworld, and asks for your sl password, don't enter it. Always go to the Second Life site directly.

Have you checked your internet connection? I would suspect that's the issue with your symptoms.

I tried IMVU and didn't last 10 minutes. It seemed so limited compared to SL.

Wut?

Looks like the "missing regions" bug is back.
Standing in: Second Life RC BlueSteel 13.05.14.275813
Looking at: Second Life RC Magnum 13.05.20.276191
Looking across, you can't see the other region in either direction, diagonally.

I'm glad this was posted. I've had problems as well. For me, it seems to happen when I turn certain directions on crowded sims. You can illustrate it by moving your camera in a circle - at a certain point, in a certain direction, it simply freezes. I put in a jira entry on the Firestorm site:
http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-10075
This sounds like the same issue.

Please LL, not this again! It took over two months to fix last time. It seems to be in Second Life RC BlueSteel 13.04.05.273550. Please ****bleep**** this in the bud.
:matte-motes-crying:
P.S. can't say N_I_P in the bud?

I have had my AO destroyed 3 times in the last week. Nothing I can do will bring it back again. I have to rezz a new copy - then remake all my outfits again. There is something causing scripts to be destroyed during a sim crossing.

There is just no discussion here about compromise or backwards support, such as for mesh. You are an elitist and just want all the non-rich and non-gnurds to be banished, I suspect. It is perfectly possible to build a system for the customers you have, but the long line of Linden mistakes in "leaders" shows they just can't grasp the concept like most other companies today. All my life I have worked (45 years) to build computer systems to serve people, the 80% target for usability is a noble goal you should consider.
This thread is not the place for posts like this, and it's counter productive.

I see similar behavior when I have a live case of this bug. I found that toggling 'Atmospheric Shaders' off and then back on in graphics preferences made the missing prims appear.I just tried that, can confirm.

Block the owner of the object first. Log into another simulator, and search for that resident by name. Bring up his profile, and block him. Then you can go find and AR the objects without crashing.

try shift-escape

Andrew Linden wrote:The problem was caused by the new interestlist code which tries to not subscribe to objects that are outside of the camera view. When crossing a region boundary your viewer would extrapolate your camera forward, the vehicle would be created behind the camera, and the server would not subscribe to it. The faster the vehicle the more likely this would happen. The solution was to special case interestlist subscription to whatever you're sitting on -- the server now ALWAYS subscribes to your seat. We already had some special case code for seats, but it needed a little more.
Very good work! Thank you.

Well, I have good news. I'm at the Magum sandbox testing a vehicle that has been problematic, and sim crossings seem to be greatly improved. I'm going to test a few more vehicles. I don't have an airplane, someone needs to show up and test one.
-
I agree that vehicle crossing are completely hosed now. My worry is that LL will never bother to fix it. Has anybody filed a JIRA?
Edit: I just created a bug/JIRA entry.

I can confirm this issue.

I can confirm that vehicle sim crossings are broken in many regions. Vehicle crossings are extremely very iffy. I simply quit trying. I hope that it gets fixed soon, but worry that it won't.

Thanks a lot! It's finally starting to make some sense. I took C/C++ in school, so that's where I'm coming from. LSL is certainly different!

I'm seriously beginning to thing LSL is a lost cause. I absolutely do not understand why I get this error.
Can someone take a shot at an explination, please?

I'm just learning how to script in sl. I'd like to try and make a script that would display the current number of users in-world - updated every few minutes.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
-
It would be nice to build/script a little indicater that would display the number of users in world.

Imagine a slide show. You have a "projector object", then you have a "cartridge object" containing all the pictures. I want to drop the "cartridge object" with the pictures on the "projector" and have the slide show play. Make sense?

Not many of us at all. I was hoping to have an in-world get-together.

I agree - that's a huge annoyance.
