  1. well, it goes hand in hand with the fact that forums are not on the dashboard anymore.... I used to love logging in to the dashboard and seeing what people were talking about - now nothing but grid status , "events" and blogs.  It's the "dumbing" down of sl, our comments and concerns are relegated to an obscure, hard to navigate forum hidden in the community button at the top.  Us dedicated souls found it but how many new visitors will find the forums, let alone the "off topic" section?

Ouch Sus as one of the many people that couldn't make the event but felt welcome to be in the "big picture" afterwards this comment seems exclusionary and harsh, especially when taken in context with your signature... this isn't lhe the Sus I came to know....

    What's up?

Edit - OKI after reading throught he rest of the thread I guess I realize where yu were coming from - but at first read it seemed as if you were "dissing" those of us who weren't there.  Your contributions are well known by everyone involved Sus.

  3. You are my hero Suella, I can't wait to play around with this.  But first I am taking new pics... recently invested in a new skin and hair (typical rez day behavior for me - its good to refresh, I think).  Anyway all this info will come in handy when I get my stuff together.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Ashley,

I presume you are a premium member since you purchased land.  The first step I would take is using the live chat to contact support and ask them questions.

You didn't say if this was what size parcel you purchased.  If you purchased less than a whole sim then other people's objects or scripts could be causing you lag.  Especially if they are "breeding animals".  See the "server side lag" section of the wiki below.

    See also this page:

If you purchased a whole sim here is another article that might be helpful:

Contrary to what some people have said, there was nothing in it that said we thought she hadn't done anything wrong.

This is, like a triple negative sentance... what the heck do you mean?   Are you saying you knew she was being stupid and flippant and you didn't/don't care?  Are you saying she was wrong and you knew it and didn't warn her?  Are you saying she was being stupid, flippant and wrong and you just want her back anyway?

I miss Keli too, her posts were/are funny and entertaining, I am just trying to sort out what you mean by the above double speak (maybe triple speak)?

  6. /me laughs... now here is a question that is right up my alley!

First you have to be aware of prim counts.  Linden Homes allow 117 prims.  Everything in SL is made of prims so you will need to shop for "low prim" furniture.  Low prim used to mean pretty ugly but these days with Sculptie prims you can get decent chairs and sofas that are only a couple of prims each.  Accessories really personalize a home.  Things like area rugs and artwork can be purchased but you can also make your own rather easily.  For instance you can take a picture of a rug or piece of art in your RL home, upload it to SL then rez a cube and drag your picture onto it.  stretch the prim until it looks right to you and then position it on the wall or floor.  Note that you can also purchase textures (on sl or the internet) and use them for rugs or artwork... and many other things.  You can also use textures in your inventory library (I still sometimes use "grass" area rugs just for fun).

Shopping for your home is fun... check out the "Home and Garden" section of the SL Marketplace and start reading some of the Home and Garden Blogs, here are some links:

    Have fun!

  7. I would keep your premium membership - if you pay it yearly its only $72(US) and after stipend ($300L per week equals $59.00US per year) it cost you almost nothing.  I prefer to own mainland vs renting estate land but thats up to you... I still think paying a few dollars for quick access to support is worth it - if you keep your premium membership its definitely worth paying yearly vs monthly tho.

  8. Here are a couple of suggestions:

Do they have a demo of the hairstyles and HUDS?  If so, try that.

Do a search for the vendor on the Market place (click the shopping button at the top of your page and navigate to the market place.  Sometimes people write reviews there.  https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Curious-Kitties-Nyanotech-09-2A-Color-Change-Hair-HUD/403553

Do a regular google search for "vendor name review" that might lead you to fashion blogs with reviews

Join the vendor's group and ask for advice there

    Hope this helps!

PS - You can review products on the Marketplace but I think only if you purchased the item thru the marketplace (not inworld).  You could start your own blog as well.

  9. We need more information to help you... it would be helpful to know your computer specifications and what viewer you are using.  Off hand it sounds to me like your graphics card is failing but I suppose it could be something else.  A picture of the problem might be helpful as well.  I doubt it is the skins themselves.

  10. hi Sahara,

Have you used the "land manager" tab (on the left side of the dashboard) to reduce your tier to zero?  Once that is done you should be able to change your membership plan.

PS Don't forget to click "save changes"

  11. Hi Saeed,

First of all, if you purchased the item on XstreetSL it will be sent to you IN-World.  You should have seen a blue window on your screen that said something like "delivering a purchase" and you have to click to accept the delivery.

If you purchased the item in world then it should have gone straight to your inventory.

A sex HUD is different than a sex bed.  HUD is short for "heads up display"  - when you find the item in your inventory you should wear it (versus rezzing it to the ground).  It will appear as some sort of clickable control on your screen.  Don't worry no one but you will be able to see it.  Read the instructions that came with it or if you have any questions about it send a notecard to the creator of the item.

    Hope this helps

  12. I'm not that familiar with version 2 but you should be aware thta it is not that simple to hide your online status - simply unchecking that box next to your friends' names is not enough  to hide your status.  Here is why... if your friends belong to the same group as you they will be able to see you online in the group info and also they will see the last time you were logged on.  You can buy huds that will tell you who is online regardless of what they checked in their friends list.  And finally if your friends use the Emerald viewer (and probably some other viewers) they can not only see who is online but who has decided to "uncheck" them - this needless to say, can lead to hurt feelings and worse.  Its a good idea to either be honest with friends if you are busy - or create an alt if you need true privacy.

  13. oki first let me explain that i am not a rl lawyer - I am guessing that this line in the TOS exists to absolve them of any responsibility should Lindens suddenly become worthless, untrade-able or should they decide to close the grid leaving many people with huge balances of Lindens they can no longer trade back for dollars. Of course they have rl value on any given day per the lindex and they charge a commission because they can - as any other bank does when you convert currency - but in truth Lindens are not a rl currency so I would not keep a large balance of Lindens.  If you are making money in world then convert them back to dollars monthly.  If you are buying lindens to cover your sl spending then only buy as you need to.
