Just boot them. If they can worm their way back in, good for them. If they end up having to pay twice because they told a fib, it may serve as a teaching experience.

I almost did but then I remembered that group money is split at the end of the day I think with group owners. So they may have not done anything sketchy ... I just want to find how I can verify. Seems money records for groups would be somewhere.

Nope, you have to report those yourself.

Sure .... but there are just WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many to do that for the nonsense stuff. And talking to one game creator he said dealing with illegal copy issues up there is very much like playing whack a mole. But at least with the filter I can not have to scroll through 5 pages of produce in the game section. Not sure why they don't post them once instead of 20 carrots and such with limited quantities

  3. I am trying to verify in one of the groups I own if someone actually paid to join or had a way to hack their way in. I know one individual that tends to lean towards sketchy things that told me how they could force joining a group. Even bragged about forcing joining a Linden owned group to troll them  I guess.
I wanted to see if there was a way to verify someone legitimately joined a pay to join group or if they found some sketchy way to join. I can't find a way to check that since money goes to the group and split to the owners.

I'm pretty sure that My Story is considered a game and those are the things that get consumed.  That is not 'breedables'.

However, if you truly think those are in the wrong category, flag a bunch of them.

BTW - there is a Breedables category:

    image.thumb.png.e8f6635a0a0cb1fe752387cec065281f.png

They are breedables. Just they are vegetables instead of animals though they have animals also. And you apparently make fake food from them. It is in the same category really. There is an extremely thin game there ... if you squint really hard. But in the end it is about growing and selling fake food items.  Just what happens is the catagory get's flooded with multiple pages of non game items.  If breedables doesn't work a catagory called fake food consumables or something odd? Systems like this could be one aspect of a game but they come of as a game that stopped with one or two game mechanics and forgot to put in game content or proper objectives.
There are too many to flag. People make 20 postings at a time. It gets ridiculous. I mean it's not like you can by a broccoli and carrot and sit down and play them with a friend.

  5. I check the market place game section almost on a daily basis for new releases for what I do. I noticed that some people flood it with brocooli, carrots for some breedable system called Mystory. It gets flooded pretty good when someone posts a bunch.

I think this shows that breedable systems need a subsection in the marketplace. Breedables are not really "games" as much as they are activities and things to do. It would help those that sell them and not clutter up the games section. On top of that people posting don't put a description so it was not clear what they even were.

I don't know if you want to spend any LI on animesh critters, but Clover has some unique bizarre pets that are also wanderers.  They do best if they have a little space.  The maker gives each species its own personality, which is fun.  Here's the mktplace link, but I would go inworld to see them.

I have a few. I forget the name of the place but I got a zombie band and such in  a pub. I wish they had the land impact that they do on OSGrid does though. Some are as low as 1 land impact over there.

Check our DRD...tons of creepy kind of stuff...

She actually does have a seance set...

    https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DRD-Spiritualists-Shoppe-Seance-Table/13053852

I have plenty of DRD stuff for various things. That one is pretty close and was tempted to get the whole house and set but I was hoping for something with a little more "Showmanship" If you seen any of Brian Topp of Grimly Fiendish's stuff you will know what I mean. I might end up having to put something together myself when I find the time.

  8. In my sim I have a zombie city up in the sky I am still building up and I am looking for suggestions on what to add to it.

I have a "safe" portion and a zombie shooting portion. The zombie shooting area will be using the Grim combat system and their zombies.  In the safe area I been putting in fun easter eggs and things to see ranging from gag refrigerators that eat you to fake zyngo games that explode and "kill" prim noob in the process, to full on rides and escape rooms. What I have already are escape rooms from Mad Peas, I got some animated rides/experiences from Grimly Fiendish (Brian Topp) and I got a variety of other things. I am looking for more spooky stuff. Spooking creepy funny but quality. No cheesy haunted houses flashing a google imaged search movie monster thing. Something more immersive.  I was hoping to find a good fake seance room with all the showmanship but haven't found anything that great yet. But any ideas of things you seen feel free to mention them. But to get the idea of some of what I have so far here are a few pics. image.thumb.png.b68c11a88b50c82012f93a48baedb95a.pngimage.thumb.png.b0ce0d7856361b9a2d86cb1d0ae63741.png

If this were a resident's Casino, I'd be all.for it.  What bothers me is that LL is the owner/operator.  I don't gamble per se.  I might buy a lottery ticket once or twice a year on a whim.   It might be fun to RP at one of these casinos in SL even if I weren't given free tokens.

I actually like playing table games in SL.  Just for the fun with friends aspect.  That's completely different than this Casino concept where RL monies come into play.

I agree. I think this should be a resident's creation. I thought of something like this a long while ago actually. But used as a traffic device system. I just could never get anyone with the skill set to help. In a legit non loophole kind of way. I actually could likely get enough skilled game makers to do a heck of a lot better than what they did. I been in SL since 2004 and the LL blackjack ... I seen the best blackjack and their's is fairly meh.

Honestly, this is a great topic for discussion. As is the original topic (unless I'm in the wrong thread AGAIN), that "this just looks bad" with LL promoting "gambling". Given the entire history of "gambling" being banned, replaced by "skill gaming".

The biggest gamble in SL is buying land or a sim and hope you find a way to break even or maybe make a little. Real estate types gamble all the time buying land hoping it will sell for more at some point. I got a nearly a full sim of mainland sim trying to put out content for people to enjoy ... I just want to break even at least ... some how. free casino games is the least amount of gamble there is in SL.

Here's the problem with non-protest protests: Nobody is going to know that you're protesting.

Let's say for instance that you're upset about a store or restaurant displaying sentiments and policies that you disagree with.

    1. People could protest in front of these stores, which might bring them free advertising, or actually educate others about those policies, which they might also disagree with.

    2. People could complain on social media, which will likely only inform a small circle of like-minded people, but may make them feel like they're doing something significant.

    3. People could do nothing except not shop at that store or restaurant, which is probably not going to make much difference to that store or restaurant.

I think we're voicing our concerns here, which is reasonable. "Protesting" inworld seems like RP protesting to me, fun but not effective for changing policy.

But protesting here or in world against this not a casino is basically protesting against not gambling. it is nonsensical. I do find the buying large amounts of credits odd is all. But if someone wants to do that ... that is their money to spend. I see it as buying tokens to a video game arcade. I would never spend that much as it seems silly. But playing with free credits might give a couple moments of enjoyment for some.

I'm not "asking for" anything -- please don't put words in my mouth. I haven't, and wouldn't, call for a ban on games in SL, including this kind of casino.

But there are some people who believe that this kind of game feeds a very real RL social problem. I don't know if they are correct or not, but you're not addressing it with this kind of response.

They are speaking from a place of neither understanding the game nor the problem and only seek to control the world around them.  But the logic or lack of logic basically ends with wanting to remove anything that is fun because it might give you a dopamine boost. For this casino it is like comparing omg I won enough money to buy a ferrari!!! " to "omg I won ... nothing really so not even sure why I said omg in the first place"
It is coming from a place of thought police of others. It is a bit extreme position is all.

And yet . . . people play such iPhone games. And spend real money on them, just as people will buy tokens at this casino.

They are trying to "beat" something, even if they are not winning anything. I'm not going to push this, because, again, this is not an area of expertise, but the essential psychological mechanism seems to be the same, or close to, even if nothing of value is available to be won?

Then ban all games. all voting, all activies, all fun, ban all everything and we all sit with our thoughts in cubes. I guess that is what you are asking for. Don't understand the nutty push to control others thing.

As at least one of them got a seven day suspension, I suspect that they're not laughing now.

I am not sufficiently well-informed about gambling addictions to know if this casino constitutes a real threat or not. I DO know that LL itself seems to think it might, because they have a sign in the casino about how to get help for gambling addictions in the US.

yah one of them set me a "Gamble Responsibly Brochure" texture. I reported nobody but clearly someone did because they were spamming people some stuff.
I have a game store in RL and worked with games for decades in SL. what LL is doing is no more an issue than my selling people a pack of bicycle playing cards. Gambling addition is a problem for those without self control or get it in their head they can beat the casino or whatever it happens to be. In this situation there is nothing to beat because there is nothing you are winning. It isn't anything you can't do already on an iphone game now.

Addiction isn't really about money or points. It's about dopamine. Whatever feels like a win, will give you a dopamine boost. This could be finding a good parking space or likes on a post.

Gambling addiction is about risking money for the chance to win more and not having the presence of mind knowing when to stop. "Dopamine boosts" you might get from pretty much an game you play, or every like you see on a FB post your youtube video etc. You blow the issue so far out of the water it is in orbit.

    Breathe, ok.

You're misreading my subtext and even not-so-sub-text.

    1. Of course I know minors aren't supposed to go into Moderate regions.

    2. The point of my post that you quoted above is not that this stupid little RP casino will turn people into gambling addicts.  My point was to follow the money of who would benefit from this stupid little RP casino. At most it will be something new for folks such as us to mock, complain about, & "protest" over, while we're actually entertaining ourselves. Forum folks get bored, so we need a little drama now & then.  Once this dust settles though, who actually benefits? A single region like this does not seem likely to bring either much money or new players to SL. I think it's a model they want to sell to "skill game" region owners.

1: You compared fake (not) gambling to underage kids doing sex role playing.
2: People that want to have fun for free would benefit. They don't have to buy silly tokens. I played a little bit at the blackjack table there ... it's like playing a card game on your iphone. There is no crazy tinfoil hat conspiracy here to follow. I saw people "protesting" with signs there yesterday. Hard to tell if they were serious or were there just for the lols. it was silly enough to make it hard to tell.
