  1. BURN2, the virtual version of the annual Burning Man event, invites you to attend this year's event, which is entitled "Metamorphoses." Think about transformations that you've experienced in your life - physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, etc. and examine what made those moments so pivotal for you. Many cultures of the world have mythologies about transformations, or as the Greeks and Romans called them, metamorphoses. In today's world maybe humans are not turned into animals and frogs don't become princes when kissed. But transformations can happen for a person or collectively for a group and these metamorphoses can have a powerful effect on our lives. We invite you to immerse yourself in transformative experiences, explore the ideas and thoughts and dreams of creatives around you at BURN2. https://burningman.org/event/brc/2019-art-theme-metamorphoses/ The playa, the Art Cars, the DJs and Live Performers, the Lamp Lighters, The Man and The Temple await you. Join us! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Burning Man- Deep Hole/174/32/25 Who are we? BURN2 is an extension of the Burning Man festival and community into the world of Second Life. It is an officially sanctioned Burning Man Regional, the only virtual world Regional out of more than 100 Regional groups worldwide, and the only Regional to burn the Man! This unique virtual Regional spreads the culture and Ten Principles of Burning Man year-round in Second Life, culminating in an annual major festival of community, art and fire in the fall - a virtual echo of Burning Man itself. www.burn2.org | Celebrating Community, Art, and Fire through the principles of BURNING MAN https://burningman.org

  11. The Theme is "Prometheus' Gift" The inspiration for this theme came from the love of fire that is common to all of us Burners. The sight of a spark inspires us, a raging bonfire enthralls us. So many myths, so many stories. Fire stolen by gods, mankind or animals. It gives, and yes, it takes, life. Ancient Greek and Roman mythology, Etruscan, Egyptian, Chinese and Indian, Native Peoples. In some stories, fire was a gift; in others a stolen power; in still others a side effect of the actions of gods and goddesses. This free one-weekend event will officially open with a walk-on by the Lamplighters at 10:00am SLT on June 29th, with camp builds remaining available for exploration during the following week (07/02 through 07/08). Our canvas, as always, is the playa (a flat-floored desert basin). You will experience art, music and community. Drive an Art Car. Groove to the tunes emanating from the Stage. Marvel at, and experience, the creative builds scattered throughout the playa. Join us! BURN2 Burnal Equinox -- Burning Man - Deep Hole Who are we? 14. The Theme is "H2O = Water but H2+O –> Fire" What does this mean? It is in two parts. The first we all know, that H2O represents WATER. But...the second part is not a chemical formula; rather it is an attempt to describe the process of combustion that results in FIRE. Both utilize hydrogen and oxygen, but manifest in different ways. This free one-weekend event will officially open with a walk-on by the Lamplighters at 10:00am SLT on March 24th, with camp builds remaining available for exploration during the following week (03/26 through 04/01). 15. Bay City -- Mole Day 2018 It’s nearly that time of year again when we look for furry little shadows. You do have your shadows enabled, no? It’s not about groundhogs — it’s about the Moles of the Linden Department of Public Works! Initially honored in 2010 by Residents of Bay City, Mole Day is set aside to show appreciation for The Moles and their many contributions to Bay City and the rest of the Second Life® Grid. Normally held on the same day as Groundhog Day, this year’s annual Mole Day will again take place at the Bay City Fairgrounds (SLurl) February 3rd commencing at 11:00 a.m. SLT. The event will feature DJ GoSpeed Racer of KONA stream followed by Stratus Mactavish performing live at 12:00 p.m. SLT. “Moles” are members of The Linden Department of Public Works (LDPW). The LDPW is a program focused on improvements related to the experience of living on or visiting the Linden Mainland. The LDPW organizes teams of Resident builders, artists, and scripters (the Moles!) to create new content on Linden Lab’s behalf and to the benefit of all. These Residents have the last name “Mole.” Moles essentially build all of the grid’s infrastructure: the public roads and railways, items in our coastal waterways and protected lands, and even larger scale projects like the Linden Homes regions, premium content, and experiences, and much more. Bay City is a mainland community, developed by Linden Lab® and home to the Bay City Alliance. The Bay City Alliance was founded in 2008 to promote the Bay City regions of Second Life and provide a venue for Bay City Residents and other interested parties to socialize and network. It is now the largest group for Residents of Bay City. For more information, or to participate in the event, please contact Marianne McCann. Bay City Mole Day - North Channel
