Bay City to Host Second Food Truck Festival Buoyed by the success of their first Food Truck Festival in 2023, the Bay City Alliance is back for their second event focused on food and food truck culture on the of 24th of March, 2024, at the Bay City Fairgrounds, in North Channel (http://slurl.com/secondlife/North%20Channel/128/128/24/). The Bay City Food Truck Festival provides space for food trucks from around Bay City and across the grid, each presented by a different Resident or Residential group. Bay City Mole Day -- February 4, 2024 Bay City will once again hold its annual “Mole Day” event to salute the The Linden Department of Public Works' Moles and their many contributions to Bay City and the rest of the Second Life® Grid. Traditionally, the Mole Day event is held on or around Groundhog Day: for 2024, it will be held on Sunday, the 4th of February, beginning at 11:00 a.m. SLT. This year’s event will feature DJ GoSpeed of KONA stream followed by a live performance by Evee Blackstar (user name Harleen Jester) at 12:00 p.m. SLT. The event will be held in the Bay City Fairgrounds in the North Channel region in Bay City. As in past years, Residents of all Second Life communities are encouraged to attend to share their appreciation of the LDPW’s many Moles. Of course, Moles and Lindens are also welcome to join in the festivities. "Moles" are members of The Linden Department of Public Works (LDPW). The LDPW is a team of Resident builders, scriptwriters, and others to create new content on Linden Lab's behalf and to the benefit of all. Initially honored in 2010 by Residents of Bay City, Mole Day is set aside to show appreciation for The Moles and their many contributions to Bay City and the rest of the Second Life® Grid. Normally held on the same day as Groundhog Day, this year’s annual Mole Day will take place a few days later, on the 7th of February, commencing at 11:00 a.m. SLT. The event will feature DJ GoSpeed Racer of KONA stream followed by Quartz performing live at 12:00 p.m. SLT. The event will be held in the Bay City Fairgrounds in North Channel. As in past years, the invitation is open to all Second Life® members to join in the fun. "Moles" are members of The Linden Department of Public Works (LDPW). The LDPW is a program focused on improvements related to the experience of living on, or visiting the Linden Mainland. Bay City, Second Life's® city by the bay, is once again preparing for their annual "Prim Drop" on the evening of the 31st of December, with festivities commencing at 11:30 pm SLT within the Bay city Fairgrounds in North Channel. The party will include a two-hour set of DJed tunes presented by Marianne McCann, as well as fireworks and other festive fun. Food, drink, and other party favors will be provided for all attendees. The event is presented as an outdoor, high-class, wintertime soirée, and black tie attire and/or full dress is requested. All Second Life® Residents are welcome to attend and ring in the New Year with the Bay City community. This will also be the last event within Bay City this year for donating to Child's Play Charity (www.childsplaycharity.org).
