  1. Hello, I've been trying to create this skirt for a while, but I'm having some trouble with the rigging. I have watched the Rigging Mesh Clothing tutorial on youtube and understand the basics of weight painting and assigning weights in blender. I have finnished my model but am not really sure how I should go about weighing it. If some one could explain it to so I understand a little better I would really appreciate it.

I've been playing around with the weights a fair bit and haven't really had much sucsess. I have included a picture of my mesh and the weights for the right thigh bone. Obviously I need to add a wider variation of weights but every time I try to do this the mesh looks crazy and messy. Help please :)

  2. unfortunately no, but Linden Labs really should let us. I'm in the same situation as you and I find it really frustrating, especially because having a reigion is so expensive.

  3. I'm trying to make some jeans to sell in an outfit along with a top I made and some sculpt jewlery. I'm happy with the top and jewlery, but I just can't get the jeans right!

I got a texture from a photo of some jeans and repeted the texture all over the jeans. I then hand drew the seams and shaded but for some reason it just doesn't look as good as I would like them to look. I would really love to get them looking really high quality, but I'm not sure what im doing wrong.

I would really love it if i could create a pair of jeans like these without having to buy a template, im a little short on Lindens ;)

Obviously I don't expect my jeans to look THAT good first try, but some tips would be really great! :D

  4. I have been wanting to design secondlife clothes for so long but there is one thing holding me back. Every time I create a piece of clothing, the shading looks unrealistic. I have looked at countless tutorials and they all say the same thing, but it isn't helping me. I have been working on it over the past year, and though my technique IS getting better, I still think it should be at a higher standard by now.

I am using Adobe Photoshop and I have a great knowledge of the program. I have attempted using the burn/dodge tool, and painting using b/w and experimenting with the opacity and blending options. If any one could explain how many stores on Second life such as Apple May Designs achieve their high quality shadows and wrinckles i would really appreciate it!

  6. It can be tricky to make seams line up, i have the same problem when i am making clothes. I find that the best way to improve the appearance is to use seam guides. What templates are you using?

I am a photoshop user and i find it really useful because you can open a 3D model of an avitar and edit the texture to make sure the seams line up. You do not need Photoshop to do this how ever, i hear that there are some applications that you can download that will let you edit textures on a 3D avitar, perhaps you should investigate some of those?

  7. I am making sculpted clothing in blender and when I look at it in blender it looks fine, but as soon as I bake it and upload it to second life, it looks different. Vertacies have moved and it loos "messy". I am using a subsurf modifier but i thought that that would be fine as long as i applied it. I have some images of the prim in blender and the prim in world. If anyone could recognize what is going on it would be appreciated :)

  8. I have started creating sculpted clothing in blender, but when ever i finnishe something, bake the mesh and view it inwold it looks different for some reason. In blender the Mesh looks "cleaner", but in world verticies have been moved around making it look "messy".

I have some images, if any one can recognize what is going on please let me know :)

And this is the cloak in SL.

Im not sure if you can see but it looks like a slice has been taken out of the prim, but in blender that piece is intact. Any suggestions as to what could of gone wrong?

  10.

the cut tool is there to delete unwanted frames or "cut" them out. And yes you can Copy and paste, in my version of Qvanimator its under edit then you can choose whether you want to copy or paste. Hope this helps :)
