  1. hi's this might work, after uploaded succesful rig, dont upload dae again, , make uvmap, and upload map as texture, apply to mesh inworld unattached,
  2. hi , i not a 3ds maya user but did have distortion problems on a weighted rigged mesh before and found my problem was with weights being applied to duplicate bones , solution for myself was to check each bone individually and ensure that weights was only applied where i wished them to be instead of which my programme autoweighted, hope it helps

  4. nice replys and some great advice,for myself shadows in viewer makes my pc ouch, further to advice so far this is fairly straight forward, in gimp i would add new layer (transparent) brush over the avatar with paint with new layer selected,(layers dock box) fuzzy select tool filters, light and shadow,drop shadow edit offsets to your aimed desire ((offset x (left to right) minus being left y being up and down)) when happy, delete new layer keeping the drop shadow :matte-motes-smile:
